    Veteran Program

So I registered my BF2 name about a month ago, and now the pricks at EA won't let me register as Ranger10 for 2142.

Am I missing something? Is there a magical unlock I need? Help!

    RE: Veteran Program

Okay through trial and error, and more than one trip to Best Buy, here's the answer to my own question. If you signed up with the Veteran program prior to the games release make sure you have a couple of things.

When you first log in, BF2142 asks you to put in the EA Account. This is not your BF2 account login/password, this is the one that you should have created way back when you first registered the game. If you put in a new account number and then register your game's security code, it will not recognize you and you'll lose your name. If you did not register as a veteran, then the account you create will be the first, and will not have problems.

Once you've put in you previously registered account name and password, the rest is easy. You'll see your BF2 name in the window and you can select it then. The problem I ran into, is that if your account doesn't match up because, like me, you thought it would be "ready" whenever you logged in then, like me, you'll need to take the game back and get another CD key.

This is the headache I hope to avoid with this post.

BTW, this game is really good. And like all games, it'll take some getting used to. But in the long run, you should like it.
