Had it not been for the aforementioned Match that was co-ordinated with specifically assigned assets, I do not recollect a time of this happening on the server. Well something needs to be done. how many times have you had to respawn at the main base and there are no trucks or transportation there. They are driven out and left in the battlefield. I try tp put as many supply crates out that i can.
Everyone wants to fly, drive armor for the high scores they rack up. It is a waste to put hats and lats out with no nearby supply point.I have ben on servers with asset squads and they seem to work for the most part. My big problem is with some of the helo pilots. When you get shot down 3 times by aa it really sucks. Hell if i could land better I would fly my own sq and drop a crate for them.
I do think the best pilots should fly and the best armor should team up. I like to drive armor, I think I do a good job especially when teamed with a good gunner.

Re: Squad Rules (Allow Squad Names to Reserve Assets)
This has to be one of the most disturbing threads I have had the displeasure to read.
Some of you actually claim that Commanders cannot and do not control how assets are allocated.
Wow ... just wow ...
Why should any person in their right mind EVER command now when they see all these people saying that they have no say in how their team is run?  Oh wait ... I see ... so they can teach others how to USE the assets ... oh ... and they can share information from one squad to another.  Why, the Commander turns out to be nothing more than a glorified tutor and a gopher!  It is no wonder so few people actually volunteer for the role.
Who wants to sign up now?
Shoot ... why stop there?  Why not simply do the same with squads?  Heck ... if the guy wants to grab a sniper kit and play the role of sniper effectively then so be it!
You cannot tell me that a Commander has any less say in how assets are alocated than a SL ... well ... I gues, it looks like some of you would.
Why bother with a chain of Command? ... shoot ... everyone go ahead and grab whatever they want and do the best you can!  If one of your squad members wants to fly a little bird while you want to pound ground ... tough ... deal with it, teach him how to fly while you are at it.
yes ... one of the most shocking theads I've seen on a forum "dedicated" to "Teamplay."
This thread isn't about errant Commanders, it is about some folks that want the toys all to themselves ... screw everyone else.  I never thought TTP would support or tolerate this attitude.
Amato, you are great in a tank but so too are many others.  Also, so that it is clear, I am not speaking of you when when it comes to those that have a gross sense of entitlement. My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.
God grant that I may not be found wanting, that I will not fail this sacred trust.

May well have been a reason the US team was crushed pretty bad but our team was very well coordinated even without a squad name bias. Commander is your king. To disobey is to the gallows.

I also see a problem that people can make squads called "All vehicles" and well that's just not good.

Re: Squad Rules (Allow Squad Names to Reserve Assets)
Why not do the obvious and just not allow naming of squads. Then the commander would not worry about being overloaded with squads like APC or Snipers..
You could just limit the amount of kits per squad based on the amount of people that are in the squad.
As far as the Team Killing thing....You could restrict the "getting of kits" if the person Tk's someone.
Example....if the person shoots a friendly...then the option of obtaining a kit becomes locked until the person dies and spawns again...
Do the developers of this mod read this site?

Re: Squad Rules (Allow Squad Names to Reserve Assets)
We need to work on getting the word out that TTP is not the server that reserves assets. One of the large problems today are other servers that follow by that rule, they come wandering in and automatically follow suit. Lets focus on sharing this info with those who come in without reading the rules. Because those are the ones that probably sparked this theory up to begin with.
