Commander in PR
Forgive me, but I have to question some stuff that was said by admins at the end of the asset thread.
11Bravo and Draco are both saying that the commander cannot designate assets. Does this also go as far as telling people to NOT use assets, as they're a waste of team points? If so, then what is the point of having a commander. This just brings a "Well, I'm going to use this helicopter, and the commander has to deal with it", which undermines the entire "Commander has the whole picture and should tell people what to do" theory. If this is the case, then why should we even bother with a commander, since nobody has to listen to him / her?

I think what Bravo is saying is that there is no DEFINED rule that says the CO HAS to assign squads to assets and assets to squads.. however, If the CO says "I want squad X to use ______ asset" that squad, and team better be hopping to it.

I think we should have a defined rule, so more people take the chair.

The rule is the same as it always has been for the last 2 years or so. If you are the commander look at your squads, talk to your squads, and organize your squads based on the assets they have. If you see squad 1 is full of infantry don't order them to bomb something. If you see squad 2 has an attack chopper then don't order them to build a FOB. If someone is new and does not know how to do something teach them. If someone is a total douche then report them to the admins. It's not really that hard is it?
My guess is if some of you would stop swapping teams and locking squads to play with the same 5 people every round you might find that A) other people know how to play, or B) that guy isn't a total dick crashing the shopper he just needs some help learning.
And you wonder why nobody wants to play? Sheesh.

Draco specifically states "You deal with what the squad is doing and work around it". 11Bravo specifically states "If you don't, you're part of the problem". What part of that isn't clear?
If I'm wrong in my interpretation, then I apologize. I'm just going off what the admins have posted.Per Aspera Ad Astra

No, what the rule is if I am commander I look at my squads and say squad 1 has a big helo, so I wan the to deliver troops here, or drop crates there. If they refuse to follow orders they get dealt with just like anyone else. What we don't allow is me being commander and saying squad 1, I know you have the big helo, but Chosen is my buddy and he wants to fly it so squad 2 is now the helo squad. See the difference?

The best Commanders know how to use what they got, but if the Commander tells you to do something like take a flag, you sure as hell better, and if that means getting out of the helicopter, you get out of it. Vehicles have and always will be first come, first serve.
The Commander can order you what to do, but he cannot order you to take or not take a vehicle, but you do whatever it takes to do what the commander has ordered, and you can't cap a flag from flying a helicopter, so even if you are in the "named asset squad" you are going to fucking get out of the helicopters and capture that flag.
