Thread: Major, Colonel, General... Have a Life?

I have been seeing several players with Major, Colonol and Ganeral (some as high as 4 star) on TTP lately.

Have you ever wondered what the players with these ranks do with all of their time, day and night? Holy shit... 200,000+ points in some cases.

Anyone see a problem with this or is it just me? Can you say "12 step program"?

Its kinda addicting, LOL a more badass version of that weird game WoW. Its like we are leveling up like trolls or something.

hello, my name is nmeboat and im addicted to battlef... :lol: :P

first of all, you have to realize that the game is going on 2 years old (dang, i didnt even realize ive been playing it for a little over a year until this post :lol: ), so 2 years worth of doing anything accumulates...

as far as what i do with all my time, well...i work a typical 8 hour a day job, play racquetball a coupla times a week, try to get some fishing in on the weekends, and of course play some bf2/2142 :P

the way i see it is this...:

-i can go out every other nite, easily spend $20+ on food and drinks (in addition to gas $), in a smoky bar that i can barely hear a conversation with someone, then possibly risk a dui or worse coming home...or i can chill safely at home for a one time fee of 50$ for bf2, plus whatever im munching on/drinking (six pack, glass of koolaid, chips, etc).

-i can sit mindlessly in front of a tv, sifting thru 100+ channels until i find something of worth thats half show content and half advertising, only to have to find something else after that hour/half hour is over...or i can hop on bf2/2142, interact, compete and problem solve with 63 other people, in a wide variety of scenarios (playing video games has actually been shown to hone hand-eye coordination as well )

-i can be wasting my money on 'typical' addictions like drugs, that put my health and freedom at risk...or i can pay that one time 'fix' of 50$ and 'turn on' whenever i want, w/o worrying about od-ing, getting robbed, or getting busted and going to jail for it. :P

i get up, go to work, come home after a long day, take a rest, get some dinner, then unwind with 63 other people instead of plopping down in front of a tv, or spending a buncha dough in gas/food/drinks to go out...

so there, you have one perspective from an 'addict'...

makes perfectly good sense to me.......btw bopat, I am honing my skills, so you better put a rear view mirror in that jet........Your video, helped me out and showed me something that I was not aware of.......I am one of the few, that don't holler HACKER.....I try to figure out why they are beating me and change my tatics and learn what they have to offer, so I get better and maybe even better than those I learn from.......I still learn something new on the battlefield from time to time and When I have a player that is schooling me up, I find a way to beat him........May take me a minute to figure out why but that make me a better player by doing this....

Yes I really enjoyed watching the video. I also saw some new tactics that I will be trying out in the near future. During a few games last night I was in a squad with Evil and was wondering which is the most effective bomber, and what if any joysticks the best pilots use?

I use Logitech Attack3....no complaints from me,,,,,,I am suprised how well its held up, seeing how I am not easy on it....I use it to its full potential.....also, I think they sell for about $30

Although the game is almost 2 years old or what not, i have made 0ver 120K since december 2005, yes 11 months. When the game first came out i had an account with the clan i was in at the time, but the prefix didnt exist at that time so when i left them in early december 2005 i had to abbandon my old and original account in wich i had 50 K. As bopat as mentioned, its not called not having a life, its more like making good and fun use of the time u would be wasting doing someptin completely useless such as ''watching tv, listening to the woman rag ect ect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :evil:

50 to 100 point rounds help u get there quick too! :shock:
