    Someone help me here...

    What's wrong with these pictures...
A little info... The MEC captured North Village, and then got down to South Outpost, started capping before the US recaptured North Village, making it so we couldn't cap South Outpost.

    1. Everyone is at main after a surprise buttsecks ambush at south village

    2. Your squad has just walked 2km from North Village to South Outpost to counter said buttsecks.

    3. That asshole Nouniquenicks is out in the middle of nowhere with a Combat Engineer kit hunting down an enemy Sniper and Avenger camping our main

    4. Some random squad chillin' at the bunker complex

Hmm... that's all I can see.

Actually, that's not a true picture. We had three tanks plus infantry at South Outpost before the US recaptured Northvillage and we had the South Outpost flag within about a quarter inch of being MEC. Then an Apache wiped out the three tanks and then I was alone on the flag - I finally got wiped out by a Bradley.

We won the round due to ticket bleed soon thereafter any way.

My side of the story - but not sure what you were getting at anyway Goof

I would presume from the way he phrased things, that he was disgruntled with players for hanging out at the Main and not keeping the pressure on North Village, to keep the enemy from retaking it before South Outpost was capped all the way. Second thing I can observe is the fact that the team doesn't have very many FOB's setup to help keep the pressure on in certain areas of the map. I see one FOB on that map and it's not helping the cause at either N. Village or S. Outpost.

FOB's are critical to holding areas of the map. I don't like building them, but I hate losing more.

Indeed you hit it on the head Bravo. Here's what I saw the entire round.
3 tanks beating the snot out of the US at North Village while my squad grabbed South then North Bunkers. We then walked BACK to South Bunker because the US was able to sneak by the one squad (mine) actually in the bunkers capturing flags. We recapped South, lost North Bunker again, and managed to get it back when the tanks started shelling the hell out of it and got rid of the US. I saw friendly squads with helos coming towards the bunkers, so we went to North Village to help the tanks there. Repeatedly asking for an APC to get us (didn't want helos since there was still a lot of AA around North Village) was an exercise in futility, and we ended up walking (so, we've gone from South Bunker, to North Bunker, back to South Bunker, back to North Bunker, and now to North Village). We helped cap North Village and then the armor raced off to South Outpost, leaving my squad at North Village. Well, we waited.... and waited.... and waited... and no enemy was coming. So, we started asking for a pickup to get to South Outpost to cap it (since by this point they were saying the enemy was all down there). Of course, nobody showed... so off we went. And walked to South Outpost. Got that one neutral before the US recapped North Village, so we had to start walking back to North Village... FINALLY an APC picked us up about half way back to North Village. We recap North Village, and get a ride back to South Outpost, getting dropped off well north of it due to 2 enemy tanks and 1 enemy APC sitting there (which BTW, our APC was able to destroy 1 APC and 1 tank before it was destroyed!) The enemy armor leaves, and we are able to cap South Outpost. So now, we're tired of walking, and again nobody is around, so I opt to have my squad sit at South Outpost and defend.
While we're doing all this walking, I see most of the team jerking off at the main base, or being uber leet and trying to show how awesome they are (BTW - nick's attempt to take a screenshot of us was almost awesome... but then a transport helo drifted into him...)
    Morale of the story...
The team needs to work together. Our side was crying about a tank camping the main base, but nobody bothered to build other firebases. We built one at South Bunker, but nobody defended it, and it was destroyed early on. If we'd had crates, we would have rebuilt it... but that didn't happen.
The team needs to work together. When an infantry squad is watching an empty APC drive away to the next flag, knowing it's over 2km to it, that infantry squad gets a little irritated. Especially after repeatedly asking for a pickup.
The team needs to work together. People were more intent on sitting at the main base waiting for their tank / APC / helicopter to respawn than they were going out and capturing flags or defending the ones we had. Only because the US team was even more inept was the MEC side able to win. And we didn't win by a lot... I think the final score was 27-0.
The team needs to work together. When an armor squad is sitting there damaged, and yelling for a repair truck, the 1 man squad that's sitting 100m from that repair truck should stop trying to be a leet sniper, and actually take the truck to them. The big picture would show that your 1 or 2 kills you're going to possibly get are outweighed by the work that armor squad is doing keeping the enemy trapped in their main base (because they're too stubborn to take a route other than the main road).

It's actually a very true picture Bryn. If the APC with your tanks had bothered to pick up the infantry REPEATEDLY ASKING FOR A RIDE, the flag would have been captured sooner, and we wouldn't have lost North Village. Again, the team needs to work together.

I wasn't in the same squad as the tanks. I was the only one from our squad down South - Noun having dropped me off in a logistic truck, and he returning North as he was bleeding out and there were no medics down there.

I am not fighting you Goof, I was just not sure of your intent and I saw the situation a little differently.

    Re: Someone help me here...

The answer is simple ... you had NO COMMANDER.

Teamwork is necessary and the plus side of playing on TTP ... most of the time, but consider that in the absence of a Commander, your strategy does not take precedence over someone else's strategy/priority. I'm not saying everyone needs to act like brain numbed strategy/combat deficient neophytes. I'm simply pointing out that what makes sense to you, me or obsessive compulsive fob building freaks is not necessarily the same. This is part of what makes the role of Commander essential and regrettably continues to be marginalized or at least diminished in PR.

I realize I am part of the minorty, but NO COMMANDER is at the heart of your challenge on that map. The lack of a strategy and coordination stems from this. Teamwork can only get you so far in the absence of leadership, execution, and a good plan. Absent teamwork and you go nowhere.

Yes, normally a commander will help the team. Unfortunately, as you said, the roll of commander is marginal at best in PR, and can be a hindrance if the person doesn't know what they're doing.
Add to that my recent experience with people not following the instructions given to them when I've been commander, and I know others have the same problem in PR, it's easy to see why nobody takes that role.

    Re: Someone help me here...

    I share your frustration.

I just hope that I can encourage you to not let it get the best of you. Until things change, without a Commander, each squad is its own separate individual unit. As a result their opinion on the best strategy may not agree with another and since we are all equal on the server we cannot expect others to be mind readers or comply with our vision of how things should go down.

You do well in pointing out to others that with or without a Commander, teamwork must be a priority. You also remind folks that a sense of how to win a map is also necessary ... that is to say that people should be looking to help the team win the battle be it by transporting another squad, defending a flag, capping a flag, or building new FOBs ... among many other productive efforts.

Hang in there. Others will take notice and in time, as others gain experience, I believe you will find that the battles are improved more often than not.
