    killing armor

Yo!! What's happening everybody? well, lately i've been wondering about the most effective way to kill enemy armor and how to keep myself alive longer when using armor. it seems i can put 5 AT rounds into a tank or APC and they are still alive, but i get into a tank and BAM!! two shots and i'm dead. someone the other night told me to aim for the front tire on APCs and from BF1942 i remember aiming for the treads or the rear of the tank. i have only managed to kill an APC in one shot once, but i am guessing that he was already half dead to begin with. please help me. i want to be a better tanker and more of an asset to my team. dying gets really old. oh, by the way... thanks for the warm greetings. i have been seeing more and more of ya'll (that's right. i said ya'll. i'm from texas!) online and it's made battlefield even more fun when you get to play with the same people and make some friends. see you on the field. i'm gonna be all up in yo moufroof!!

    RE: killing armor

Well me and bluethunder tested all the theroys on how to kill a tank the other day. and we found out that hitting it in the front treads right where they meat the body or if u can get on top of it shoot it straight down in to the top where the gunner sitsthey it will do some damage. both of those shots did at least 3/4 damage. ! also if hes turned around backwards shooting at something then hit him in the place where the gun mounts to the body.

    Hope that it helps,
    Toxic.

    RE: killing armor

you can take a tank out with two AT rockets to the front of the treads (possibly back too), but the key is that 1ft x 1ft area where it shows the flat 'face' part tread part of the tracks. as far as i know, apc's dont have any significant weak spots like that...anything like halfway down the vehicle (tire area as you said).

as far as tank vs tank, theres this holy grail sweet spot on the top face of the armor before the turret where the shell "ricochets" off that face then into the turret, effectively a double hit, which translates to a one-shot kill. its a relatively small area that takes practice to hit, so good luck with that :P

There's a great armor guide at http://www.secretsofbattlefield.com that has HP and such for all the vehicles. It's a little old now, but I don't think anything has changed.
