What is TTP's point of view on the use of

Teamspeak. Like between different squads working together and such.<This is what I want it for
Not on opposite sides helping one side take advantage of the other. Basically a spy. <-This is not what I want it for.

I am curious as to the extent of the rules since I haven't seen any and I love this server and don't want to be banned because of something stupid I didnt know.

If it's not allowed then I will scrap the great idea I had.

TTP doesn't really support the use of an outside chat program to accomplish what the in game should. We want our users to be able to hop in game and have everything they need right there and built in without having to load other junk to be effective. We wont host a vent or teamspeak server for players to use in game, if that is what you are asking.

That being said, as long as you aren't using it for cheating, you are welcome to use a Vent or Teamspeak server to chat with your friends or talk smack - HRD does it all the time.

Just make sure you are not ignoring the normal in game comms and leaving your squad members out of the conversation when it comes to important game related chat.

A TS or Vent for chit-chat, hellos and goodbyes, and end-of-round trash talk is fine. Any communication tool that is used in any way to provide an unfair or exploitative advantage to one player, players, or side during play is a definite NO-GO. Any communication tool which is used to circumvent the normal chain of command as set forth by the in-game mechanics is a definite NO-GO.

If EA intended squad leaders to talk to each other without using the commander, they would have coded the VOIP to work that way.

We had a TS open to the whole site at one time. That is until it started getting hacked. So we took it down.

There is more to do in an online game than to simply trudge through it solo or with only your clan mates. If you want to play by yourselves, without saying, typing, or responding to anything....why are you doing that in a public MULTIPLAYER SERVER? If a request is made of you, answer. If you are being spoken to, respond. If you want to talk with your friends through external VOIP to the detriment of communicating with your team, go play somewhere else. If the only communication skills you can muster are insults to your teammates, mutiny against the organization of the team, or to purposefully cause conflict, such as spamming your microphone with music or singing, be prepared for punishment by the admins. Nothing is taken more seriously than an insult to the team and spamming your microphone with “Shut up! You guys are noobs" is about as bad as it gets.

If your not using the ingame chat, or using teamspeak to do some cross team bullshit your going to get punished for it. Otherwise there should be no problems.

i guess i forgot that rule when i first joined the ttp server. i wont use teamspeak ingame no longer when talkin to my clan. i never wanted to use it cross team like i said above just to unify 2 squads but now i wont use it at all while in the game just to keep safe.

If you reread the rules, using Teamspeak is not in itself against the rules, its when your exclusively using it and not keeping up with in-game chat that we start to have a problem.
