    2142 Titan Crashing

Please let us know if you're experiencing crashes at the end of a Titan round - we're talking crash to desktop at the end of a round as the titan is exploding - and a loss of points/medals advancement.

EA wants the errors reported to them officially - as well updates can be found here:

    http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread....hreadID=152391

If this is a wide spread issue the admins will vote to change the rotation to conquest only.

I havent installed the patch yet, but it appears the issue is effecting mostly ATI users...

We don't want to remove Titan mode unless we absolutely have to - everyone please keep an eye on thier G-card's driver update websites as well - I imagine EA will not release a fix - as it'll come from the respective videocard makers assuming they are truly the issue.

    RE: 2142 Titan Crashing

    sjt,

Last night moomaster and I were playing on the server and I crashed to desktop after the Titan exploded. That was not the first Titan game we played last night either. Funny thing is, I brought the game right back up and the server was empty. Is this a server crash?

I know I personally like to play the Titan mode in a rotation but crashing to desktop is not ideal.

I would say it happened around 6:40pm CST.

    Trot

    RE: 2142 Titan Crashing

So the issue only occurs if the titan is moving when the shields go down (and it's forced to stop) and if the server plays more than one round per map.......sigh...

Go EA for having a thread to discuss and get out info this time around.

    Hello, soldiers.

I know today has had its share of battles, so I'm hoping we can re-focus the thread now that I've identified the main issues you're reporting. This is what I've seen as the top five issues on the 1.05 feedback thread. I'm adding the information I know about the issues and I'll update this post if I learn anything new.

    -------------------------

    1. Crash to desktop at the end of the round in Titan maps. You should still earn credit for what you did in the round (thank you for the correction, MichaelBrobst2) although there may be a delay.

-If the Titan is moving when the shields go down and the rounds per map is set greater than one, then the client will crash at the end of the round. Until a fix is in place, server admins can prevent the issue by setting the rounds per map to one. (Medic 9017 kindly posted this workaround; it has also been verified by DICE). Soldiers can also choose to play Conquest maps to avoid running into the Titan crash if the rounds per map has not been changed to one.

We'll they half way did what they wanted, in removing the lag that was caused by boarded titans and they forgot what happens if they are moving when they go down... seems like a little mistake but probobly means hours of re-config for them and a new patch for us! woo hoo :|

So if they sheilds go down while the titans are moving thats a crash in itself cause that could happen all day, I was thinkin 1 rounders but if every time that sheild bug hits and we drop 50 connections... it looks bad!

I agree with Koopa. Last night after the crash I did not see the pop go high enough to start a game. Although it might have happened a little later in the night.

RE: Re: RE: 2142 Titan Crashing

No - supposedly it wont happen if we only play one round - it would only happen on more than one round for some reason.....If the shields go down while we're moving - and the server is set to one round - it shouldn't crash ius what EA/Dice say.

So that's the option I think we'll take - that way as well we'll morve through the map rotation faster - get to look @ more maps and still be bale to play titan.
