anyone wanna help me for a week or so to get some upgrades?

Hey ya'll,

so i bought 2142 friday at wally world....im getting used to the game itself and how its different from BF2....seems like a crazy fast paced version of bf2 so far, lol.....

anyone im a private, almost private first class....and im getting the hang of it....but wouldn't mind rankin up quicker with a good squad leader.

i find one last night, but my game froze right before it laoded the map all the way....grr.

BTW: i unlocked the shotty attachment for the assault kit, yet when i scroll through the weapons on my mousewheel it never shows up, what gives? I added it to the little box deal on the customization screen, but its not showing up....?

It takes time for the unlocks and rank ups to take effect, being that the EA master server is so overworked right now. Also it could be a bug or glitch or a possible missing file which causes the game crashes. If this continues I would try reinstalling the game and if the unlocks continue not showing up then contact EA support about the issue.

If you're going to unlock your assualt stuff first, I highly recommend getting the defibulator first (or ASAP since you already started unlocking stuff). You can get alot of revive points pretty quickly and that'll help you get your next few rank ups rather quickly since if you get 8 revives in a round you get a pin that'll be worth 5pts? Either way they add up pretty quickly. That was my first unlock and I just went straight up from there until I got my Voss L-AR, which I actually prefer a little more than the Baur H-AR at the moment.

As for the crashes, have you tried lowering your graphics settings a little? Sometimes just lowering a few things will help or just hit the medium or low config if you won't want to do the custom settings.

The unlocks are kinda annoying sometimes but I've never had much of a real problem with them. The shotgun attachment though appears the same on your weapon menu list, it just depends on which slot you put it in for what number will switch to it. After you switch to it you can't really tell a difference besides the fact that the crosshair is now a big circle with a little one in the middle and you only have 3 shots and 3 reloads with it.

Kerion just hit the spot there with the defibrilator as the 1st unlock you should get, I know it was the 1st unlock I got, and o man did it count. I racked up so many points once I got that awsome revive tool. I highly recommend that you follow Keirons advice and get that medic tool.

YES!! Get that first and follow me around. Everytime I see Blackhawk and Keiron you will get a chance to use it on me!!! Excellent idea!!

Well right now on my ATI X1600, im running the game in the resoltuion below the max due to my widescreen, the settings are at medium, and my card (vpu is 500mhz, memory was 405mhz) i ran the ati auto config for makin the card go faster, and it just cranked everything up so currently card is running VPU: 560mhz, memory is 468mhz.

I can play battlefield for like 10minutes, and it crashes to desktop......my vid card is only running at 61* C under the BF2142 load. It's starting to get kinda annoying....i don't run into any problems with BF2 with the card at this setting, and if im right, their still using the same engine. I guess if all fails, i'll have to reinstall....i couldn't even finish a round within the alst hour to get the rank recognized....it sucks balls.

Maybe i need those new ATi Drivers though that were posted?

i would grab the drivers and try that if they are updates, it will not hurt to update the video drivers.

just got done updating the drivers, v. 6.11 for the x1600....running the catalyst auto config again just to make sure the vid card is ok bein that tweaked.

im pretty sure i hit the med settings button, but had to switch ym resoltion higher since the med. button is like 1024x768, and that shits just too small....i need more pixels! :P

I thought the BF2142 engine was slightly better than BF2, but then again maybe not. But still the graphics might need to set differently for a number of reasons, new drivers might help that problem. If you're still having problems try leaving it at 1024x768...and I know that is a horrible resolution to play at but see if it works.

Trot: That's not always the case since last night I believe you kept killing me...but I could have just been having a bad night since I couldn't really do shit :P

yeah, i got the drivers and everything is fine, still running the clocked settings as well....:dance: :dance:

There's a shitload of rank man....thanks to brewski/blackhawk tellin me i have to get all the upgrades unlocked first before i can get a weapon unlocked....which is ghey IMO.
