Re: can't fly to save my own life
yea I am a ground grunt by heart but when I am getting blasted to high heaven and they are dropping bombs on us only to find out our jets are sitting on the field because no one is flying them isn't going to help our team win. Besides I want to be able to use the choppers for troop transport if nothing else. I have an old usb joystick from years back but I can't seem to get the configuration correct on it. I twist left and it rolls right instead of left. I will get it worked out eventually. I will go offline and spend a day getting the hang of it when I get some free time.

I'm a complete noob at flying, but if its the heli thats bothering you, I recently figured out that holding left (a) or right (d) helps stablize it. Of course with jets all I can do is make a nice bonfire for the little summer camp kids :5

I miss the beta version of tampa, when it had bombers. Now that would be an airwhore's dream!!

Using a joystick makes a huge difference, and is worth the 15$ investment, if not for all the old school flight and space sims you can play with it!
I recently busted out my old X-Wing Alliance joystick and it makes flying the jets effortless (well, the maneuvering part of it anyway. bombing and air to air combat still requires mucho practice)
The chopper however is still a challenge for me, even with a joystick. Whenever I roll left or right, bad things tend to happen.
