Using a joystick in 2142

Oh and laggy [jack]thanks for taking care of the gunship commander last night on Wake[/jack] but Boo!!! on crashing my walker - I was having a real good run in it....(at least I think it was you that crashed into me - I couldn't see who responded fast enough)

here's how to hookup the controller:

wrap it very nicely in bubble wrap
place into a box with my address on it (i believe you already have it)
visit your nearest post office and purchase shipping
ground shipping will be fine - no need to overnight it

Joysticks work fine as far as I know. It must be plugged in before you start the game and then you have to go into your controls and add the joystick controls... In all honesty though, 2142 really doesn't need a joystick, even for gunship piloting. The keyboard/mouse is generally the most effective.

I used my Saitek for a bit, I dont recall it being difficult to setup and believe it worked without fiddling - but i quit using it pretty quickly, the old mouse and keys worked better than the joystick in 2142...

I tried a joystick in the beginning and felt I lost the fine controls needed to properly land the craft. Went back to keyboard and mouse and haven't had any more problems.

MOUSE AND KEYBOARD SHOULD ONLY BE USED WHILE USING THE GUNSHIP! THE GUNSHIP IS NOT A JET! IT NEEDS THE CONTROL AND ABILITY THAT ONLY A MOUSE AND KEYBOARD CAN GIVE!
