    BF2 vs. PR?

This is not a "BF2 sucks, play PR" kind of thread.

Just played a round on the server and really enjoyed it. A very good break from the slow paced PR.
I used to play this before the mod came out, and it was the best game in the world. Lots of teamplay and TTP admins came down hard on non-teamplayers. Couldn't be better.

Then PR popped up and started doing something to BF2 that I know we all wanted in one way or another. It got better and better and I finally moved onto it, along with many other TTP regulars. Some stayed and some went back over time. Though I did play on our beloved SF server once in a while. But it gets me wondering...

Have you tried PR? What is it about BF2 that keeps you from PR; why did you go back? Do you still frequent PR?
Just asking out of curiosity because I'm kinda confused about this great round I just had - they were all great once. Maybe I should ask myself but that'd be a long confusing story.

    Cheers. Please vote.

I played it long time ago. Just too slow for me. Its lacking that certain, je ne sais quoi. Mainly because I just preferred the game play better.

    Re: BF2 vs. PR?

They really are to different games. PR is for those seeking a the Real combat where as BF2 is for those who want to hit the ground running and never stop. Its like lazer tag and paint ball, lazer tag you get to run around, shoot, get shot, and at the end see who got the high score. Paintball, you can run around, get shot, and sit out the round, or you can play it smart go slow when you need to, keep you eyes open, and play with tactics.

Way too slow to keep my interest.

On a side note: Kelderos? Are you out there?

    Re: BF2 vs. PR?

I tried it but it was way to slow for me. I sometimes play for an hour, hop off for a few hours, hop back on etc. Just not my type of game.

    Re: BF2 vs. PR?

I play both. Vanilla is good for some run n gun, up in your face, bullet hose action. It's good (for me personally) when I don't have alot of time to game, and I just want to hop right into the action, or I just need to vent a big with a big MG.

PR is more hardcore. It's the game where you might be prone behind hard cover for 15 minutes straight because some guy on an HMG 500 meters away and spotted you. It's where you expect your squad to stick together, all the time and be in constant communication. Everyone starts out on an even playing field in PR , unlike BF2, where the veterans start out with some ludicrously overpowered weapons. (cough G36 cough).

Just my 2 cents, not trying to bash Vanilla.
