You guys might have to keep my tank warm for me. My comp took a dump today, hopefully it will be something easy (and cheap) but that's not my luck. Can't even boot up Windows in safe mode, it just keeps restarting. Trying not to have to reinstall Windows because I haven't backed up any pics in the last month or so. But I'm guessing my hard drive crapped out on me so it wouldn't help anyway. Hopefully I can find the problem tomorrow but since I haven't worked in 2 months my funds are getting very limited. Hope to be back getting cussed out soon, I will do everything I can to be back before our scrims.

Damn, I went through that back in the beginning of the year except it was my mobo. Then had to give the work laptop back.... then the cell phone died.

It was not an auspicious start for the year in a tech sense.

could also be your Power Supply dying. If you have a spare around that can support your system, try swapping them before you spend any money. I had something similar to what you describe happen to me and it turned out to be a bad PS.

Try using your Windows Install CD.... try and do a fix from there.

Or you could try resetting the BIOS on your MoBo with a jumper.

Do you have the option to "roll back" to a previous backup instead of running "safe mode"?

Blood, if you can boot from the install disc and run the recovery console that might help you.

ROFL - no thanks man. RL has enough of us by the short hairs at the moment. We're glad to spread the wealth.

Seriously though, hope yall get the technical issues (and other assorted RL issues) sorted out quickly.

It must be the season. Had two friends whose comps are going nuts. One's wife decided to give him XPAntiVirus, and he is sooooooooo not pleased with that. He thinks he might have it cleaned up enough that it's not doing anything other than hogging space in the registry. The other I am still waiting for analysis be a closer (location wise) techie....it's in an endless loop state and no safe mode for them either.
