I think I'll try some of these tips this weekend. Too often I aim where I think the chopper is. May be this guide might make a helicopter gunner whore out of me. :P

One thing that always pisses me off if I'm gunning is if I'm not in a squad with my pilot, or vise versa. It is frustrating as a pilot when your gunner is not paying attention. If you are in that situation, make sure you look forward 75-80 percent of the time, especially if the pilot knows what they are doing. Look forward constantly.

What kills me ( and my pilot) is that sometimes the game affords me plenty of corrections and the inbound flight of the missle is smooth and deliberate.

At other times, I can see what I need to do, but no amount of clicks can get my missle on target, and I miss.

I don't know whether everyone gets this and it is a variation factor built in or what.

This single thing is what makes me a somewhat unreliable gunner.

I'm still a noob at flying the chopper... Range10 can verify that...

You should also talk about target priority, using the chain guns, what graphics settings you use to see the infantry better, etc.

I'd love to read more about this. How do you lead targets with the chain guns? With the exception of people like xav, steve, gato, dan, etc I have such a difficult time hitting ground targets. Is it because they are smoother pilots and get more consistent rotation?

Great work btw reis. You and Soviet do fabulous jobs on helping TTPers gain skills in the air.
