PB Help

Hey guys... well Punkbuster hates me

. I was playing on monday fine then monday evening i started getting this error....

Punkbunster Kicked player '[SsT] Sfrichck' ( for 0 minutes).... Restriction: Service communication Failure: PnkBstrB.exe heartbeats stopped.

Now usually if this happens i unistall PB and reinstall (pbsetup.exe) and restarted my comp and everything is fine and dandy. No go this time. I even ran PBSVC..... nothing.

So anyone got any help they can bestow upon me. Cause i am really getting tired of PB and this bs. Also the other peice of additional information i have is i run Vista.

Don't know how it works on Vista, but Cntrl + Alt + Delete before you go in-game, selected PnkBstrB.exe or PnkBstrA.exe (in the processes tab) and end it. I think it's PnkBstrA.exe you have to stop... Always used to happen to me in PR.

Firewall blocking it or is Punkbuster "allowed" ?

No still get booted...

Firewall is not blocking it and PB is allowed

As long as you're updated and the services are installed... When I get repeated PB errors like that, I reboot and it usually goes away.

Yeah usually thats what happens for me to but i been getting kicked consistently since monday evening. No matter what i do I havent been able to play one game of BF2 through.

Unplug your cable modem/DSL modem for 5-10 mins and plug back in. Reset your router (if you have one.)

i will try that tonight when i get home from work.... if anyone has any other ideas please post them and i will try them all after work. I getting kinda desperate. :3

I dont recall getting this error in a very long time, but unisntalling/reinstalling (any program) is not a very good idea unless you know for sure something crucial is broking in it. Usually a Restart is all it takes.
I believe PB is registered as a "service", so to restart it click Start -> Control Panel -> Admin. tools -> Services. In the list find both pb services, right click and 'restart' each.
