Knife Fighting while SL'ing - or - "Why I was a coward last night" :)

WookinPaNub you did turn down a knife fight with me. It was Songhua Stalemate you're squad was going South Island and so was my squad. We were coming from South Front my squad went on top of the hill at South Island and I went towards the bottom side where the boats spawn as I was running to take cover so no one would see me. I see you, you were all by yourself I was like mahahah time to own wookin again but this time with a knife. So I pull out my knife and you see me, first you seem dazed and confused on what to do then as I was running up to you. I heard several bursts and saw several flashes go off and my screen turns to 15 second respawn. I was like

. he should have knife fight. But it’s ok wookin next time I won't go easy on you I will just pull out my shot gun bunny hop and kill you multi-times just like I did you to several days ago at Central Front on the same map...

On Tampa yesterday i was on the roof of the Gas station flag trying to capture it and I just happen to turn and stair into the seedy little criminal eyes of Snipe about to stick me. Oh and by the way...I did not die for the next 5 minutes....got 6 more kills and captured the flag. I think Snipe got my adrenalin running!

Nothing like catching the sticker before he sticks!

He would of had to hit you 3-4 times to kill you. The first 2 never count.

LOL yes, you were one of the two, Zlyrack being the other. And the 'dazed look' is part of the reason I've had to make the call to just shoot first and ask questions later. See, I do try to knife fight with Zly (and normally lose) given our friendly rivalary, and when I was looking at you all dazed I was trying to figure out if you're him or someone else. Once I figured out you were someone else, I'm afraid you got the trigger

But I'm finding that those few dazed seconds are unfortunately getting me killed (deer in the headlight thing) more often than not - so I'm afraid my knife fighting will be significantly decreasing....

And as for the shot gun bunny hopping, that ranks right up there with my top 10 "things I hate in BF2"
1) Snipers
2) Airwhores
3) Bunny hopping noob tubers

Maybe I have a problem. Usually I'll use the shock paddles anyway (even in a knife fight) because its more humiliating.

Finally. Someone who shares my absolute abhorrence of snipers. For me, they rank somewhere between belly button lint, child molesters and people who talk in the theater.

Everyone wants to knife a 4 star...

I play along and usually I miss and the fight last for 1 minute or more then if I got a new guy in the squad he just pumps both of us full of lead.

Dead is dead from a knife or any other and if I don't oblige your knife fight.. I got flags to cap and my squad relying on me.

Kill me by knife I have respect towards you than if you kill me with your unlocks.

Ruh roh... Don't look at my stats then.

But honestly most of those stats are from before I found TTP.

That isn't to say I don't kinda enjoy playing sniper. But I've recently fallen in love with the AT rockets, so maybe I'm a reformed sniper?

Plus, I'm the worst sniper in the world, I tend to rush flags with my rifle in hand. This results in death, over and over.

I usually try to get at least a few knife kills per round. Not the predictable knife the 'prone sniper' types, but more the 'WTF, this guy is charging me with a knife' kills.

There are times where I've exercised bad discretion in using a knife instead of a firearm, and may have cost my squad a flag -- Not too proud of those moments. But in general trying to knife at times where it wouldn't make the squad fail an objective (since going for the knife vs. gun always carries inherent risk). Unfortunately it also chalks up a good number of deaths on the scoreboard too -- usually in the top 3-5 for deaths each round.. sigh.

And for squad leads like Wook, GrandMaster, Species, etc that may choose to fire instead of knife -- no hard feelings at all. It is the smarter move. (But it won't keep me from trying again with an alternate tactic

Bottom line - knifing can be entertaining, but used at the wrong time may cause more damage than just a single kill. And don't just watch your back, cause you just might get a visit in front from the crazy knife guy.

2 people added to this list to knife. I just realised while reading this thread i have never knifed ranger. Definitely have to fix that.
