Useful performance tweak...

To get BC2 to better utilize all your CPU cores, add +fullproc to your Target field of your shortcut.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2 - BETA\BFBC2Game.exe" +fullproc

In Steam, add +fullproc to the 'Launch Options' for the BFBC2 Beta.

Right click on the BFBC2 Beta icon in "My Games" go to Properties and click Launch Options. Add +fullproc.

Perhaps we can sticky this and people can put in other useful tweaks they've found.

DX 11 was choppy and meh on low everything for me (check out my specs of the specs thread) - then did the old switcheroo to DX9 and shazam! High detail and high res then no problem....

Not really a tweak but if you are new to playing BC2 I'd advise that you update your vid drivers, just in case you did not already.

Also there is a settings file that can help change some settings that are not available in game

Path is Users\(Your user name)\Documents\BFBC2

Open up the settings file with notepad.

Because I hate bloom and I wanted to be able to see when I was in a desert map.
Change to "Bloom=false"

There is also a FOV setting but I have not played with it yet. Confirmed it works.

I was able to run with everything dialed up on high in DX11 mode with my 5870 last night. Smooth as silk. In-game stuff for Xfire wasn't working so I have no idea what FPS I was pushing, but it was much smoother than the beta was with my 8800GT.

Wile, do you know if the CPU performance tweek in your first post is still valid?? or was that one of the performance modifications that was coming with the full release?

In the game settings.ini file there is a car radio setting and you can set it to any song you want

No you really cant .... but imagine the possibilities...

I added it to my startup options in Steam and it didn't complain, so I'd guess it probably is still valid. I'm sure once TweakGuides puts out their BFBC2 guide they'll have all the details of what switches/tweaks are available.
