Re: Blackhawk squads? useful or no?
thats why i suggested one engineer as gunner stay in hawk, engineer can repair enough for me to pull out if i take an AT hit or FAV fire. Plus, if ground work is being done properly, wouldn't people on ground have to concentrate on the people on the ground capping flag?

Well, yea now that they made the guns more powerful again, a crew of at least one good gunner and a good pilot, and some wrenches can lay some smack down in mashtuur. Just ignore the title

Re: Blackhawk squads? useful or no?
As long as the chopper pilot knows how to fly (and just doesn't do endless figure 8 turns) and the airthreats (mainly attack choppers) is limited, then a blackhawk squad does work wonders, especially on a big map like Tampa. That said, 6 bodies do create a lot of incentive to take it down and rack up some kills, and given the quality of many of the pilots on TTP (Xav, Tamato, etc) it does create a lot of incentive to go chopper chasing!

Don't agree at all with those who say you can't use the transports with attack choppers. You just need a good pilot!
A good transport pilot can run the heli down the roads like it is a car. Hell, I run people over with them all the time, always kinda nice to see a fraged with Blackhawk on the screen. It isn't easy. If you go just a little higher you open yourself up to alot of fire from ground forces. A good pilot can use the terrain to dodge incomming fire and lock ons. At that altitude I hardly ever get hit by attacks from attack choppers. The attacks start comming when I have to pop up and hold or circle slowly to give my squadies a chance to clear the base with the mini-guns.
Then it is nice to have some jets or air cover, but ussually you just take your chances and if you hear the lock, head for the dirt and a hill as fast as you can!
