Re: Blackhawk squads? useful or no?
There is a video on Youtube with the black hawk full of engineers and one support. They fly all over the Tampa map dropping mines in front and behind the tanks. Funniest thing I have watched in a long time. The tanks could not get a good shot and no matter what direction the tanks tried to go they would hit a mine. With the support guy in the BH there was of course and endless supply of mines and I can just see how fustrated those tank drivers were.
I will have to find that yotube video
I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was!

Funny thing.
When I get lucky, while shooting a blackhawk, rarely I am able to just nail the pilot. Then sometimes the rest of the people dont know what the hell happened untill its too late the BH crashes into the ground.
Most maps these things are pretty dam useless unless you make quick short trips and bail out. The high altitude platform really doesnt work too well as you just end up sending your squadmates to their deaths one by one as the land on the earth.
Someone was trying that a while back on wake. My squad wracked up like 30 kills killing the same 5 squad members over and over as they landed and floated down.

Re: Blackhawk squads? useful or no?
It worked pretty well for a few squads I was in recently. One was on Mushtar (I think that name is right) and we just did a full engi squad and we capped like mad.
The other was what you were describing Jeep1. SL hovered far above and we continuously attacked a certain vital flag. It actually worked pretty well and we were able to overwhelm and eventually cap quite a few flags...
I wouldn't rule out this method, since it can be pretty effective...

Re: Blackhawk squads? useful or no?
I was in a UH60 squad with a dude the other day on Mashtuur and it was incredible. I didnt know the miniguns had been pimped up so much!! PLus the SL was flying epically well, minigun shots were easy as pie.
We had two engineers and ammo guys, the rest on the guns.
Needless to say, it was a success.
