To punish or not to punish? That is the question.
To punish or not to punish? That is the question. This is my solution to the punish question. If the person accidentally kills me I forgive. If the person accidentally kills me again I forgive. If the person "accidently" kills me again i punish then get an admin. If the person kills me through their own negligence i punish then forget about it. If the person deliberatley kills me then I punish and get an admin. I think that these are decent guidelines for punishing. What are your guidelines? And remember if its obviously an accident please dont punish.

To punish or not to punish? That is the question.
good post......
If someone kills you by accident, I never punish......If a guy is just being careless and kills me a couple of times and he is just not giving a rats tail about friendlies and continues to disregard his team, then INDEED he gets punished for it,,,because at that time, his playstyle is in question......(either he doesn't know the game or just doesn't care) very possible he will get removed.
If someone INTENSIONALLY TEAM KILLS, he should ALWAYS be punished....This also helps an Admin see whats going on when a player is racking up on punished Teamkills......if this happens, always type....I NEED SOME ADMIN HELP PLEASE....in great big letters....They may respond right then or it could be a minute or two later but you will get the attention of an Admin and they will help you......
Accidental teamkill = forgive
Careless playstyle teamkill, more than one = Punish
Intensional Teamkill = Always Punish.....
If we all go by this guideline, It helps the Admin manage the players so everyone has a real experience without some jerk disrupting the game.

To punish or not to punish? That is the question.
I almost never punish. Not being an admin i feel it's their job and if someone is intentionally tk'ing it's only a matter of time before it's figured out or kicked. But i never fly a chopper or plane, so i'm only intentionally tk'ed by the jerk who just shows up on a match is just tk'ing everyone. And since playing on the TTP server it's easy to pick out the ones tk'ing (usually for a jet or chopper) that's what makes playing here the best.
And if I tk, i try to make sure the first thing i do is apologize.

Re: To punish or not to punish? That is the question.
Instead of starting a new topic on this subject, I am reviving this one.
Trigger2k8... Stop being an Ass about punishing people for accidental TK's!
Team Kills 1328
Team Damage 652
Team Vehicle Damage 348
As you can see from above your stats are far from perfect in the TK department however most of us forgive because it is an "ACCIDENT".
Dude you have killed me countless times while in your jet and not once have I punished you... Now I'm reconsidering, hell the way you were handing out punishments the other night I think all of TTP should reconsider.
For the amount of time between your two accounts that you have played this game... you should show a little more consideration to the people that you share the server with.

I'll have to agree with drax. I rarely punish for teamkills. Many times I have dropped bombs on a flag being overtaken by the enemy and killed that one hopeless friendly dude. I always get punished but take it for the team. Same when those friendly bombs get dropped on me. I don't punish but take it for the team. Of course for those obvious intentional teamkills it's time to punish.

Re: To punish or not to punish? That is the question.
I rarely punish too. But when I get punished I get really angry, I do not TK on purpose at anytime, during any circumstance, and neither does anyone that wants to stay in this community so punishing someone that is a regular would have to have good reason behind it, it's a slap in the face.
