    PR MUMBLE CHANNEL RULES

BE ADVISED: WHEN YOU STEP INTO THE MUMBLE CHANNEL YOU NEED TO KEEP THE COM'S TO A MINIMUM

I'm going to keep this as simple as possible!!

We do not need to hear about your day or other random statements.

We do not need to hear about things that are not related to game strategies.

Only use the mumble coms during game-play to facilitate the troop movements of your teams/team-mates.

Admins for the TeamPlayerGaming PR server are often in a TeamSpeak Channel and we do not need the over flow of information.

If you cannot follow these simple rules then you will find yourself banned from Mumble and you will go through the banned forums to get your access reinstated.

This is not some little team speak channel to be just randomly spouting off stuff in. Keep it to the Game or you are going to regret it.

    How to connect

Simply go to server, then connect, and click.

    Setting up your quick-connect

Click the Custom Servers tab, type in your handle in the Username box, then click Add. This is so you don't have to retype your name every time.

How to connect to the PR mumble server

All you have to do now is click connect.

    Getting the the Texas...Teamplayers...channel

Chances are likely your drop down arrow has already been activated, unlike mine. If it has not been, simply click it and scroll down to find the TTP channel.

    Selecting the sub-channels

This is a pretty confusing subject, but what seems to be the most correct thing to do is to double click on whichever Team channel corresponds to the in game teams. If you don't know which channel belongs to which team simply go in to either one and ask. If you are a Squad Leader, join the sub channel that says Squad Leaders Radio Net.

    Hope this helps!

If you don't want each channel to open, simply go to Configure > Settings > User Interface Tab > Click on the Expand drop down box > Go to None > Click Apply, then Ok

If you have problem players in the Mumble PR Channel then get us a name and place it in the disruptive players thread.

If it's severe enough; take the time to get Xfire names of the moderators of this forum.

Once your in the server it shouldn't really affect you if you talk about your day and the person you are walking with wants to hear about it.

Right, the positional 3D audio only kicks in once you have spawned in game and the game links with Mumble. At that point, if you use the local talk button and say something, only the people near or within 75 m will hear you. However, if you haven't spawned yet and you use the talk button, it spams everyone in the game and they can all hear you. This can be confusing and frustrating. Also, I would advise those who are not leading a squad to stay out of the Squad Leaders channel, because you will get a lot of extra people talking that you probably don't need to hear.

Unless people are using the squad leader radio thing then everyone hears it.

Everyone needs to make sure they have local chat setup to use when not squad leading.

Last night I was hearing people who were all the way across the map.

Tex is spot on. Had I not encountered an issue already I would have never made this post and made it into a sticky outlying the consequences. As I said, use the mumble channel for in game related coms only. I wont keep repeating this message. Failure to comply will result in bans to those who wish to ignore my warning on this matter. When bans don't work then I'll go about getting the channel removed. It's as simple as that. There isn't really any room for discussion in this matter.

Thank you so much for posting this Bravo! This should make mumble more of an asset rather than a detriment.

I've never been in the SL Channel on Mumble, what does this do? I realize that you can bind the "Local" chat and the "Squad Leader" chat buttons in Mumble settings. When not in the SL channel, the "SL" chat or as some call it "Force Center" chat, does nothing. I imagine this button only works if you're in the SL channel and will spam everyone in the channel with whatever you say? But the "Local" chat doesn't spam everyone even if you're in the SL channel? Is this correct?

    Re: PR MUMBLE CHANNEL RULES

From:Squad Leader Communication in Mumble Guide

The above example shows the TCombat channel on the PR Mumble server.
    It has 3 Channels.
    Main channel is named :
    "TCombat Chicago"
    It has two sub channels:
"Squad Leader Radio Net (Team 1)"
    And
"Squad Leader Radio Net (Team 2)"

The channels "TCombat Chicago", "Squad Leader Radio Net (Team 1)" and "Squad Leader Radio Net (Team 2)" are all "linked" together. This means that when transmitting using Local Speech, everybody will hear everyone else in any of these three channels if close together in game ( within about 10-20m?). However, if Scott in the "Squad Leader Radio Net (Team 1)" channel was to transmit using his "Squad Leader Radio" key, only the other players in "Squad Leader Radio Net (Team 1)" would hear him anywhere on the map.

Using this in combination with BF2 VoIP can gives great results!

    Mumble Comms

    * Squad Leaders and Grunts can communicate by transmitting using "Local Speech". This will transmit in 3D positional if the player is in-game.
    * Squad Leaders can communicate to each other by using the "Squad Leader Radio" key. This is not transmitted as Positional Audio, so it's essentially radio communication for Squad Leaders.

    BF2 Comms

    * Commanders can and should still use BF2 voip as usual. For speaking to specific Squad Leaders, or to all Squad Leaders at once.
    * Squad members can still make use of BF2 Voip. Using this for distant communication or stuff only relevant to their squad. As well as inter-squad vehicular communication.
