    Technical Issues...

    Re: Technical Issues...

So today, I start up BF2, it takes three times as long as normal just to get out of black screen and into the game where it says DICE, EA GAMES, etc. Then when attempting to log in, I get the error: Server refuses the connection (or something along those lines). Any thoughts?

I already tried deleting my account and retrieving it, however i get the same error everytime i attempt to retrieve my account again.

Also, not sure if this is related, but last night, i finally got enough points to rank up when i was playing on TPG's server, except I never ranked up. It says I have 50,009 points, and i only needed 50,000. I have all the badges/medals necessary.

I ended up uninstalling from my 6-8 year old computer (Don't remember the exact year it was bought), and installed BF2 on my school (HP elitebook) laptop and is working fine right now. And because of the move I now have a working mic (I think, haven't tested the intergrated mic yet).

When Disabling Steam Overlay You must Restart Steam for that setting to take effect.

I'm having communication errors with pb, so I looked into it and even though I have repeatedly updated pb it doesn't change I did all the things even balance suggest. Should I reinstall bf2? Any other suggestions?

I'm assuming you are going to evenbalance. For me, may just be coincidence, but before I play I always load the pbsec file from evenbalance. Its pain in the ass having to do it, but works for me. When I don't I'll get the pbB error.

    Re: Technical Issues...

This seems like a fix but when I download pbsec or pbsvc, they are not programs, only browser text documents. he says in the comments to reinstall, that confuses me since I do the work and then have to do it all over again?

EDIT PB issue fixed, found a good pbsvc download for some reason the one one evenbalance didn't work for me.

I can report success running bf2 on win7 64bit (alienware m11x; I have the steam version of bf2). I did have to enable administrator mode for it to run (the keys would not update correctly without admin mode).
