People who complain and think things are wrong because they suck at whatever they're complaining about and aren't patient enough to adapt to what's given to them.

2142 is one of the best games I've ever played as far as balance and whatever else you want to critique. Everything has it's pros, everything has it's cons, you just have to know what they are.

The clark shotgun is fine. Any other gun, aside from possibly the engi gun, should be able to take out a shotgunner before much damage is done if he's shooting at you from a ways away. Up close, if the shotgunner doesn't kill you in the first shot, in the time it takes to fire the next shot or two, he should be dead. Make it as hard as you can for him to hit you. But don't be lame and bunnyhop.

The rockets are fine. They're even realistic. The military is ACTUALLY developing them. They're not in any way overpowered. If you get hit by one, run like hell and you'll be fine, stick around and you'll be dead. They expose your position if you fire them for everyone to see, and you have to make yourself fairly vulnerable to even fire them if you want to make a shot that counts. Learn to use cover.

The gunship may be powerful, but it's armor is also very weak. Learn how to take it down. Also, there aren't many good pilots or gunners out there.

Now your #3 and #5 are legitimate, I'm sure those piss everyone off time to time. It's just how it is. The others though... I mean come on. I hate when people expect a game to work how they think it should. That's why games are becoming so damn stupid and dumbed down and simple these days. No one wants to adapt, they expect everything to adapt to them.

I don't have a problem with adapting, i went from cod3 to bf2, and in my opinion 2142 is a dumbed down version of bf2. Sure i might not be the best at bf2 but i don't complain because its balanced. I might get killed by an airwhore from time to time, but the map is big enouf so it doesn't happen over and over again like in 2142. In my opinion 2142 was trying to mix cod and the bf series but did it poorly, as a game it is good, but it did a poor job of mixing those two things. The maps became a lot smaller, so most fighting happened in to 3 places at all times. So 2142 is a bf game but for the masses, more actiony and less tactical, and with more balance issues and straight up better weapons.

You're actually fine with BF2 next to 2142's gunships? Man, after BF2 I thought they were completely balanced after getting killed by Generic-Class Airwhore Model #20427942 and all the previous models leading up to it.

I remember when I was one of the few that new how to use PK Rockets effectively. I remember asking in a forum back in 2006 when it was first released how they work and people were calling it the biggest waste of an unlock because it was useless. Oh how the times have changed. I also remember when people thought the Northern Strike unlock of 1 more PK Rocket wouldn't make them unbalanced and cheap. If I recall, it takes two PK rockets to kill a guy, so they basically just upgraded the kills per clip from 1 to 2 assuming you are only aiming at one target. Reminiscing about this makes me miss playing BF2142 and Northern Strike...

Your #1,2&4 are just a result of being new to the game.

There's nothing wrong with the Voss. The Voss's accuracy spreads real fast, so longer fights force you into cover, or shooting too wide to be effective.

You see the Voss used more because it's the weapon unlock in the medic side of the assault class, and because it has 40 shots.

Give me the Baur-HAR before the Voss-LAR any day. It hits harder, it's more accurate, and it reloads faster.

I prefer the Baur to the Voss, but only because I think the Voss is far too bloody overpowered to use honestly (in the same thread as knowing of a popular map glitch/exploit but choosing not to perform it). Almost every time I pick one up from a kit, I start getting killstreaks and whipping people all over the place. The recoil sends it almost only up and not in any other direction, coupled with the fire rate and enormous clip making it quite easy to get a headshot. It's broken in my opinion. At least with a SCAR, Krylov, or Baur, the recoil is slightly less predictable or does not often give you a headshot for firing longer--That's the point of the LMGs, to zero in on an enemy and put him in your death zone. The Voss can do that, you just need to fire five bullets instead of forty.

I expect somebody is going to go into a comment about positioning, skill, or the likes, but the point is that the Voss looks the most useful in the most situations. I hear fans of the weapon say it's good because they don't have to aim at the head--they can just fire at someone's chest and get headshots. The Baur, Krylov, SCAR, Lambert, Park, Morietti, Zeller, Bianchi, Shuko, Ganz, you've got to zero in on that sucker.

Thanks for saying it for me. Because you're just pulling nonsense from nowhere to prove your point.

"Zeroing in" and putting consistent shots on the head/chest are the same thing. You don't like the Voss, we get it.
