Thread: Things i despise the most about BF2142

I dislike *suicidal* ramming with the transport. It is a cheap tactic, but no doubt useful. As you said, it's part of the game, and I don't complain. And ramming is only easy to avoid if you're looking at the person, which, most of the time, isn't the case. What you did on wake island was creative and clever, and not cheap at all.

Mainly I'm just talking about ramming transports. It erks me. Jihaading (or however you spell it) erks me too, I absolutely hate it. But, it's part of the game, and I don't complain about it.

Once, like a year and half ago, I accidentally killed an enemy walker with a parachute.

You know what annoys me is when you're using the spawn beacon and the game decides to either spawn you right over a squadmate who spawned a split second before or vice versa. No one is at fault for the pod tk except for bad programming.

Yet, on the other hand... I have been doing that a bit recently and have realized that it's pretty damn fun (and funny.)

I was thinking more along the lines of single seating a transport and switching between the pilot seat and the gunner's seat, and trying to kill each other.

On the topic of ramming though, unless you're completely obvlivious, ramming is very easy to dodge. It'll happen, and you can bitch and piss and moan. Or you can make sure it doesn't happen again.

Don't be like some of the other posters in this thread, Stick07. Don't write off a tactic as 'cheap' or 'lame' because you dislike it. Ramming is an aspect of the game, because some vehicles are heavier than others, and using what you've got is called creativity.

Same concept, I was on Wake Island. I used a Nekomata hover tank to ram an enemy walker into the water and killed him without firing a shot. Was that lame? Or Creative?

Its lame that you're creative. But congrats. That's a clever move. Isn't one of the walkers heavier then the other? I forget which one...

oooo oooo Install jump Jets on the walkers! Then if a transport tries to ram you, you can use the jump jets and ram the transport.

lawls, i didn't have anyone in mind particularly. but I'm saying our server has alot of tolerance that other servers would definitely call voss users out on.

im prospective, our community is great because we let the game play as it is. but one google search about the voss and you see a vast majority of 2142 users know the voss is broken. with head shot rates more then any weapon due to certain exploitable recoll characteristics.

Can you give us a link that shows the Voss is superior? I'd like to read it, I've never put any time in doing so.

back in the day, pasha and I would test this little argument of the voss being broken (because it seemed stupid for people to call it out like that.) the verdict ended up being that we could kill anyone just as easily with any of the 4 guns - but in fact, when we would field test a 1 on 1 scrimmage on an empty server, the krylov would come up on top over the baur and voss because of its higher accuracy (its recoil and deviation are significantly lower than the other 3.) All things considered, stat-wise, the kyrlov is the easiest gun to get a kill with ( this week I'll only use the krylov to demonstrate.) I use the voss for its magazine size; basically so that I can kill 10 people in a clip instead of 8, headshots not accounted for.

Also, why is it the responsibility of the pilot to change squads to be in communications with someone that is just standing there wanting to gun. It is in no way his responsibility. If the player wants to be the gunner, then he needs to make the effort to join the squad of the guy who is piloting, so that there is communications.

If the pilot is already in a squad that's full, it's not a possibility. Seeing how most regs (who are generally the ones being addressed here) tend to flock together, and squads led by regs are almost always full... makes it a little hard for a willing gunner to join.

We're basically on the same page Trail, but I've seen a lot of 'solo artists' out there in gunships when I've been on, and that does not promote teamplay. Sure, it may be useful to whomever's squad they're in, but it may not be useful overall to the team (or our server) as a whole. This game has a dying populace. Promoting teamwork may help us retain a larger proportion of that dying populace.

I still maintane that soloing gunships, no matter how useful, doesn't promote teamplay. The preference should be that a gunship should be used as it was designed with a team of two manning it. Failing that, sure, solo the gunship all you want, as long as you're supporting your team.
