    Locking squads

I have noticed alot of squads being locked over the weeks, especially late nights. This screen shot is an example, and I know we have outside clans that come and play on the servers and all, but, when its a full server, and you have a squad locked with only one or two guys in it, no one can join if squads are maxed and you cant create one.
Just an FYI to the admin, if they were not aware of this already.
    Thanks

    RE: Locking squads

Yeah I dont like the idea of locking squads, but its somewhat hard to manage. I like the idea of being able to play with different players each time rather than locking a squad or being locked out of a squad. Its frustrating to be locked out, and have to have a 1 man squad.. booooooo!

    RE: Locking squads

Locking squads is completely unacceptable on any level. It does not allow teamplay in any way, squad leaders who lock their squads should be susceptible to be kicked. Opinions?

    RE: Locking squads

I can see both sides of this,,,,,,It depends on what kind of squad they are running......If they are an air squad, using alot of coms, it helps to keep the chatter down except for good vital coms......not someone saying,,,,"oh i just got blowed up by some dude putting a shotgun in my face, That was KEWL MAN".....meanwhile you missed the coms about where a helo or jet was coming in from and blew your ass and you teamate out of the air because you missed the last transition because some yahoo was yacking......So i can understand both side because I have been there.......I normally don't have a locked squad, although on occasion, once I have had enough chatter and can't keep the voice spam down, I will create another channel with who is working with GOOD VITAL COMS and lock us in......To help prevent this more, Manage your squad.......I Create a Squad and lock immediately becasue if I don't, it fills up sometimes before I can even hit the lock button.....once I lock it, I usually choose2 to 3 and then unlock it so others can join........I let them know real quick, I don't want old info, I want whats helpfull , not what has already happened.

    RE: Locking squads

Take it on a case by case basis. Because, like Commander said, there are times when it's appropriate. When the server is full and we're out of squads, that is not one of those times.

Just take in the circumstances, and warn where appropriate. Kick when only absolutely necessary, since this is a minor inconvenience, not necessarily blatant non-teamplay.

    RE: Locking squads

IMO you should not lock your squad unless you will have 5-6 players in it. The LOC guys aren't TOO bad, at least they have 4 people, but the two-man squad is a complete waste. If they want to talk to just each other they should get a clan VOIP server.

    RE: Locking squads

Sometimes a squad is locked to facilitate Aircraft communications without having to walk all over the rest of tyhe squad's conversation. You know, pilot and gunner type.

Sometimes you might see a locked squad to facilitate Clan practice.

Sometimes you see a locked squad and it is simply a smacktard being a lone-wolf and doesn't want to get kicked.

The latter is, in my opinion, a kickable offense and if persistant, bannable. But as Commander and Yahoo said, it's a case by case basis. If you think it's a problem, call out for an Admin. They are really good about answering our concerns in game.

    Locking squads

    Completely understood.
I'll be sure to cap type "ADMIN" in global chat, next time an incident of this sort appears, or any other rules infraction.
