    I also have an 8800GT and play just fine on medium. I average 30-35 fps depending on the action sometimes up to 40. Current settings below.

    Height=720
    Fullscreen=true
    RefreshRate=60
    VSync=false
    [Sound]
    Quality=low
    VoipEnable=true
    SpeakerCount=0
    [Graphics]
    Effects=medium
    Soldiers=medium
    Vehicles=medium
    Overgrowth=medium
    Undergrowth=medium
    StaticObjects=medium
    Terrain=medium
    Shadows=medium
    Bloom=true
    HSAO=false
    MSAA=0
    Water=medium
    MainQuality=medium
    Texture=high
    DxVersion=auto
    Aniso=2
    Detail=medium
    RenderAheadLimit=2
    Fov=55

    8800GT here as well. I'm on medium running around 30 fps also.... I'd like to know if anyone can really feel a difference in gameplay while playing at a higher FPS

    I'm on a 8600, DX9 minimum resolution low settings and I still lag a bit during explosions and etc...I think I will up to an 8800, I hear it is a lot better then the 8600 and at this point I just want my 1680x1050 resolution back + good fps.

    8800GT Medium and 1024, no problems at all! Just kick the fan to "High" and the world goes 'round.

    Visually we are able to see clear fluid motion at about 25 fps. However, a higher fps is desirable do to system stress and GPU stress, basically anything that will cause lots of processing all at once will drop your fps and you experience lag or skipping.

    i can run everything on high on my 260gtx and still get my 66 fps at 1920x1080 8400@3.49

    but i dont i run everything on med and low shadows. and x2/x2.

    at high settings im only using 43% of gpu per gpuz.

    this game can run decent on a 9 seris card ez

    Re: BFBC2 GPU Performance

    Any game that looks this good is going to be demanding. What we experienced is that tuning down visual settings along with the resolution still hurt budget and even some mid-range graphics cards. DICE recommends at least a GeForce GTX 260 or Radeon HD 4870 graphics card to play Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and it is rare to find this kind of high performance GPUs falling under the recommended specifications.
    For all of you with super huge lag issues....

    not just random lag but the people who find the game unplayable.

    I had a 8600 for a few days and upgraded to a 8800GT. Does make a difference. Currently am running the ATi equivalent (HD3870), with a Q6600 CPU and everything runs great. Just upped it to High settings the other day, really don't notice a difference. Have heard this game is more taxing on CPU though, might be the quad core talking more than GPU.
