I've seen way too many people ignore you when you ask for resupply, ammo, etc. Or Engineers that don't actually go after tanks, they just use their rockets to kill people, because you know, killing a person with your Gustov is soooooo hard to do right? I hate seeing so many engineers do nothing when there are 2+ tanks raping you because their too busy going after the foot soldiers.

I usually only use the Gustov like that if I am aiming at a tank and I see a person that might be more hazardous right away and it is quicker than switching, or my main gun is out of ammo and I'm too far away for a knife. Tracer dart the vehicles and blow them up, that is what an engineer does. Or places mines for them to roll on.

It does actually help sometimes though when you type out what needs to be done. A pain in the ass and obvious what needs to be done, but still helps sometimes.

Sometimes though I wish I could play 3 classes at once so I could heal, revive, resupply, repair, and destroy vehicles as needed. What works too though is just picking up the enemies kit near you and using it to the best of your ability. I've gotten a lot of points by picking up medic or assault gear when I'm say Engineer. Not only do I get to resupply and heal myself but my teammates as well, especially on conquest maps near flags. As long as you are alive it seems they don't go away as I once got a crap load of additional points when I swapped to assault to resupply my squad and switched back to Engineer. Great benefit to everyone really.

It's not even hard to get into the habit of supporting your squad when you spawn in, just like you would do in BF2. I mean, spawn, assess the situation, and throw out your ammobox, medikit or whatever is needed then get on fighting. And all your allies have healthbars and will flash low ammo anyway, there's not even a reason someone should need to beg for supplies. It should be second nature to buff those guys up before pushing since the team gets more work done with a resupplied, healthy squad than with some rambo running off for kills and leaving an ammo-less half-dead squad to deal with ongoing suppression.

By the time I'm typing for AT for the 3rd time in a row, it means I'm already pretty pissed, and you'll usually see something like "someone kill the $#@% tank already" from me (the in-game censor thingy is hilarious :6 And next thing you know, I'm spawning on the engy in the squad who keeps hiding out in the cargo crate trying to snipe someone with their rocket launcher (or even better, their XM8 Compact) :5

:6 OK, I made my response very simple for this reason. I have nothing against snipers "especially Alundil and other ttp regs". I JUST WANTED TO REMIND EVERY BODY THAT TEAM PLAY IS WHAT TTP IS ALL ABOUT!!!!!! :9 :9 :9 :9 If every body would do that we would not have to wine and wine on this web site. So if you are playing on ttp please think like a team. The great thing about BC 2 is you get a lot of points if you do that. Just look at my K/D ratio. " -68 " but yet I am always in the top 4 spots. So lets all stop getting mad and have some fun fun and fun. That's why we play right.

Camping snipers piss me of even more now, ever since I have gotten into Recon. I can easily keep up with my team with a T88/SVU and my trusty Rex...why cant they?

Spirit that's my point. I keep up just fine with the M24 (or the Zeller in 2142) and I chalk up those who can't to poor team players either way.

Well, maybe we should set some hard rules.

In TF, if there are more than, say, two snipers, admins will generally warn people to switch to other classes, and then start kicking. I think that we need something like this, especially on Rush. On 16-man teams, there's no reason for the attacking team to have more than two snipers/campers. I think that if there are more than 2, the admin should call for some of them to switch, and then start kicking.

There are already server definitions and rules on camping. I don't think we need to invent more. Snipers aren't the biggest problem either. There are plenty of people playing all kits who hang back so they can pick off easy kills and protect their k/d instead of moving for the objective. BF:BC2 Rules and Policies

Agreed, it's campers and stat-padders that are the problem, not snipers alone, snipers are just the most obvious. I know that there are rules, but they're rarely enforced, it seems. Maybe I just play when there aren't many admins on.

I think that a stricter enforcement of the rules regarding camping in general might be more feasible long term. I know that if there were rules (a la TF2) regarding which kits to play I'd probably struggle with that. Sniper/recon/Long rifles are where my skills really shine in just about every game I've played. With that said - from an attack/defend standpoint that is my strong suit.

Sure, and if anyone should be camping, it should be snipers, since they can at least call in arty strikes and spot well, but they should be limited. But yes, we'd get the same effect if we focused on anyone camping. Last night, on defense, I can't tell you how many times the box would be flashing while 2/3 of our team was lined up at the edge of the map, making zero effort at all to move in to disarm. We don't need people like this on our server. We have regs who can't get into the server because jackasses like this are taking up the slots.
