Thinking of upgrading my graphics card for this game

Does anyone know of a good card within the hundred dollar range that they would recommend? The rest of my computer meets the recommended specs for bc2

I doubt you will find anything under $100, more like under $180.

Anything greater then the nVidia 9800 will do

You might be able to find a good 9800 Nvidia or or 4850 ATI card for around that price at Newegg.

I got a nice 4850 in my system now and I can play it fairly smoothly.

It's kind of funny, my XFX Radeon HD 4350 can run it smoothly most of the time, until there is smoke or fire then it just dies...

Try the NVidia 9800. That's more like the $130 dollar range, but it could work out.

My old $80 ATI 4650 ran Far Cry 2 (extremely power-hungry game) at pretty good specs, so that ATI 4850 that was mentioned ought to serve you well. Pretty good price there.

im sure if you shop around you can find better deals. but this is from neweggs.

also this card is still under spec for bc2.

if you can go like 20 bucks more your options really really open up.

The 9800 is basically the 8800 with DDR3 overclocked. The 9800GTX+ has 50% more render units compared the the regular 9800/8800GT and a GTS 250 is the rename of the 9800GTX+ (the only difference is the die-shrink). I was running dual GTS 250 in SLI but I lent one to a friend yesterday so I will test BC2 with a single and see how well it runs in 1080p.

Exactly; the 9800 and 8800 have the same amount of muscle, but the 9800 allows for more on-chip eye candy. I am running SLI-8800 GTS 640's at 1280x1024 and it is quite smooth on medium. I am not sure how 1 8800 will take it however; I know some in this thread have said it works great, but I have heard other reports from others, such as McStrange.

But like Summon said; if you can eek out just a hair more dough (20 bucks or so) you can get access to considerably better cards; at the price you are looking at they are all quite dated.

I recommend spending a touch more, but if you can't

Look at the last two pages, those are all the cards between 75 and 100. I am not actually that up to speed on these lower end cards, but there are some decent open box deals...
