nah...I've been using macs for the past 6 years so...pretty much used to the awesomeness of it. Don't be afraid...give in to the omnipotence of Mac.

That's wrong. D3D9 works fine in Wine. With Shader Model 3 too. It's all in the drivers at that point. You will need to be running the real 3D acceleration X drivers+kernel DRI drivers from the manuf (nvidia or ATI). If there's a problem with BF2 in Wine it's the CD key registry issue (if you are using the crappy EADM version). Which is why I haven't installed BF2 in linux, but Eve Online, which now uses SM 3 by default, works just fine.
