Your pessimistic nature annoys me.

They'll make it work. And in 200 years I'm pretty sure those buildings would still be there, just decayed, provided an earthquake or the BF2 skirmish didn't wipe them out completely.

Blue Pearl is an awesome map(providing that the server restricts rockets until a flag is taken). I expect I will continue to play it on bf2 though as the conquest game play on bf2 is superior (without jets, of course). We'll see.

I do look forward to more players which will undoubtedly come with the game being offered on Steam.

How do you get on the closed beta? I applied once and did not get a response. It's been over a month and not only is there no open beta but there has been no update on any progress.

I think Strike at Karkand will be great in comparison to BF2142's cramped city maps. I also saw the defending side has a hachimoto that spawns at the warehouse which will make defence easier. The TV missile will be an invaluable tool for stopped APCs from a distance.

You've got to be a tester with Combat Testing to get in on the closed beta. If you applied and didn't get a response, you may have applied when they were not looking for new testers.

1.5 is out yes - but that is the current patch version. 1.51 is the next (last?) patch and is in Beta Testing at the moment.

Hehe - well if when you start your 2142 game it says the version you are playing with is 1.4 then yes. You will need that 1.5 patch to play on any of the ranked servers.

This is 1.51, not 1.5. It's the supposed last update for 2142. Been pending for over a year.

I may have to dust off my DVD of the game and join you all for some action when 1.51 comes out. I am a Battlefield 2 player to this day. But I love 2142 as well. I just have not played for a few years now.
