I like the alternate fire however the sensor package comes in the same because it helps support the team better.

Optics on a tank and UAV rapes everything.

Optics on tank and UAV are money. Alt fire on small armor since the lack of long range accuracy makes optics practically useless.

BTW, smoke is the most worthless crap in the game. It blinds you to all enemies while they have a nice view of you from Q spotting. It used to be useful function in BF2 and BF2142.

It's the only way to remove tracers, though.

Actually, a friendly Assault can use their ever wonderful 40mm Smokes to remove your tracer dart. I kept tracer'ing a target, then smoking them, and the tracer kept disappearing.

Besides, the smoke has a pretty good use, considering it creates the densest smoke in a huge radius. You can use it to deploy a large smokescreen near an objective, or use it tactically like you would the 40mm, and use it to cover plants or advances. All you have to do is, once you use it, back out of the smoke. Most people will aim for the center of the smoke, while you'll be safely outside the smokescreen, but behind the circle of smoke.

    Re: Fav Vehicle Specialization?

Kinda sortof a slight detour of this subject, but...

Did I misunderstand that the Vehicle Specializations would "stack" ? I thought I read, or heard that this was to be the case, so long as the VS's were not the same for driver and gunner.

I'm not seeing this as being the case.

I prefer the sensor package for spotting, or the rapid reload for firepower superiority.

    Re: Fav Vehicle Specialization?

Reload speed has the most benefit for more vehicles. UAV > Helo Gunner > H/L Tank > Helo Pilot > PT boat. The only things it doesnt work on is machineguns (tank secondary or Humvee/Cobra), quads, and jetskis.

I've picked up a grand total of 1 other Assault kit using 40mm smoke. How many of the extremely few people using that attachment would actually think/plan to use it on friendly vehicles with tracer darts attached to them? Effectively none, to the point where you can't so much as hope that somebody will smoke the dart off for your tank or whatever.

[Edited: That was too brash. Too broad. Inappropriate] If you know that the smoke launcher for vehicles removes tracer darts, isn't it very intuitive that the smoke deployed by a 40mm launcher would do the same? Smoke is smoke right?

If we want to move on to why 40mm smokes are worse than the 40mm grenades, I'll happily debate, but in another thread. I just want people to know now that you CAN use smoke for more than just area denial.

And just for fun, that was likely my kit that you picked up.
