No one (or hardly anyone) played servers 3 and 4 when they were squad dm & squad rush... We've got to worry about keeping one server fully packed in order to justify keeping this game around, rather than diluting with other servers.

Squad Rush / Squad Deathmatch would be the best option for the 2nd Server IMO.

Excellent idea. I just tried out Squad Deathmatch for the first time last night and it was a blast. I'd love to see a TPG Squad Deathmatch server.

Like Wile said. We need to fulfill the main before we can make the 2nd worth while here.
Before you pitch your thoughts about this topic, put game time in on #1 and we'll go from there. If I can afford it, I'm going to get a reserved spot on #1 (IMO, server needs to be full often to make it worth the expense) which will also validate even hosting a 2nd server.

Going on about the 2nd server, I'm up for anything but Conq for it. When we had SR/SD on 3 and 4, initiated by vote, it failed miserably. I voted for it and I think I was on it most often playing with myself, very depressing. Perhaps this will change simply because the #'s are now low for BC2, I don't know.

Let's make populating #1 a priority at this point. Also realize, since our server moved to a different host - we lost ranking. Since changing our name from TTP to TPG - we lost fairly new regs. We've have recently had one too many changes that does not earn new players. Let's focus on finding and gaining TPG newbies > if you are on an outside server and you find a player who plays well with you, FRIEND HIM and bring him to TPG next time.

You make some valid points, Awesome. Then again, we have two servers that are both running Conquest and Rush. I agree it's important to populate the 'main' server but having a redundant one, a copy, doesn't really help that. To me, it seems like a waste of resources. This, coupled with the fact that there are a number of people not playing BC2 at the moment because of their disappointment with the latest patch, makes it clear to me that setting the second server to the 'smaller' Squad Deathmatch mode seems to be the best move at this time. There are a number of us that jump on to the 'main' server (Main being one of the duplicate servers that's populated at any given time) in the hopes of getting it primied only to leave for another populated server after 20 minutes or so of unsuccessful priming. I think that having a smaller Squad Deathmatch server would be an ideal choice given these circumstances - it's faster to prime and a nice change of pace not to mention a lot of fun.

As has been stated before, SDM really is not an ideal teamplay setting. I know we've listed the reasons before so I'll only touch on a few of them.

The biggest thing for me is that it is just a huge frag fest. There is no point to control, anyone can jump from squad to squad and cause an imbalance in the squads. As such, the person with a full squad will usually win. None of that screams teamplay. If it doesn't scream teamplay, it really has no reason for TPG to be hosting it.

SR is a little better since it is just a smaller version of Rush, but still is really a competitive mode. It also gives the attackers a much bigger advantage since the ticket count was the same but with smaller numbers. It might be better now that we can control the ticket counts though.

Either way, the main focus should be focusing on keeping any one server full before we worry about any type of second server. And really I think many people are just getting fed up with EA/DICE in general since there are many issues that have yet to be fixed.

My comment about #2 was for anything other than just Conq. I'd like it as Rush, SD, or SR...(either doesn't matter to me bcuz I'll play). That is only if we can keep it populated to warrant the need for a second server which is why I went on about focusing on #1.

Well I just got back from a family trip. I am ready to focus on the first server. I want to say the 5ths, VTRX and some regs have been doing there part , at least on prime time. We need to get more of the regs to do there part. So what if it takes 10 to 20 minutes to prime. If we just focus on doing that once a day within a week or so it will prime its self and start to get new TPG newbees. With the viop not working all the time lets make sure that we try typing some commands or at least wich flag or mcom to go for. It is time to step up and show everybody what TPG is made of. I know that I need to work on typing commands. So lets rock TPG. Shoot you later evilblackjack
