Don't bail out of armor, unless it's beeping at you/on fire and you know it's going to blow up - because I keep on seeing people leave armor, then suddenly an opfor some how manages to get ahold of it and then wipes everyone out who's trying to cap or defend that flag...

One of my favorite things to do in BF2 is steal that armor while you're repairing it and then killing you with it.
ArmorHo Rule #1 - NEVER Abandon Your Vehicle! Die with it rather than risk the enemy stealing it!
You'll get it again when you both respawn. Every death a stolen vehicle gets is YOUR fault!

Re: Go down with the ship
People bailing out of armor happens across all games (see: http://www.teamplayergaming.com/show...ble-sin-in-BC2!). I've seen it in every game, a player commits an act of treason against their team just to save their own ass. If players didn't have asses or became one, gaming would be a whole lot more productive. However since all games are plagued with the mentality of 'getting mine' instead of 'what's best for the team', maybe we should discuss how to stop the 'getting mine'?
Every month there is a thread started in this forum discussing the lack of teamplay, snipers, airwhores, and team stacking. While delving into the specifities of the "particulars" and vehemately calling out players who repeat "particulars" is only a distraction to the root of the problem. The root is selfishness.
So how may we combat selfishness you ask? Well unfortunately this is something the forums can't help you with. You see the whole reason why players are drawn to BF2 and TPG is because of players actions, not words. Speak less, act more. Put your own selfishness aside, and show others really how to play the game. For example, if you are in a squad, choosing to spawn green consistently and never spawning white map to map will show the others in your squad to do the same. SL's will try to manage the squad you're in, but if your actions speak louder than your words, others will learn. If they don't learn, a good SL will gladly show them the door.
Why chop off the tail, which will merely grow back, when you can chop off the head instead, which won't grow back?!?!?!?!?!?!

Re: Go down with the ship
Hey, he was silly enough to believe he was all alone but I'm not going to make the same mistake!
If it's my team's armor, so what, we'll get it back and I just saved it from being stolen.
And if it's enemy armor, I just kept it out of action that much longer with a damn good chance you'll miss cuz I've seen you shoot!

Re: Go down with the ship
My point is that your best bet is to repair that armor at some point since the enemy engineer was repairing its low health and you now have his kit. It doesn't make any sense to steal the armor, pull back, and never use the damn thing because you're too afraid it will blow up at any moment. Quickly switch kits, move the armor to safety, repair the damn thing, then play defensively with your brand new enemy armor.
