    Map rotation needs some work. Too many vehicle warfare mode maps in row.

    The map rotation is set the way it is so admins can pull any map the population may be looking for. The map rotation is just about never followed. Admins ussually step in to sway the server's path in a direction that will keep the population.

    However, that also means that the server doesn't really get going unless there's an admin on to mess with it. Non-admin priming is, therefore, very unlikely or nearly impossible.

    The rotation should be such that, even if every admin fell ill tomorrow with food poisoning (possibly from a bowl of bad gaspacho), the server could be primed and played by the non-admin population.

    That is a good point Draco, give that...

    The current map rotation was set after a poll was take of the most popular maps. A rotation was designed and put in place. Every skrim map and VW map is set at the end of the rotation. It would take more hour then there are in two days to go through all the maps in the rotation to get to the point where it would be just VW maps. Sauso event took place most because of my own fault. I set the map the Beirut because that is our best priming map. After being there for an hour plus and not getting a single other person on the server. I left but set the next map to be Beirut because the server will change maps when the last person on it leaves. By setting it to Beirut it will contiue to run our better priming map. If anything needs to happen Beirut needs to be moved up on the rotation because it was added late due to the maps many bugs.

    So the rotation is one which will not need admin attention, unless something like I just explained happens. Besides the server is rarely prime souly by non admin players. We do a few regulars that hop on first but there is almost always an admin that follows them. I personally check to make sure, even if the server is going fine, to be certain there is someone with authority on the server, once even taking me to 5 in the morning because 15 people still wanted to play.

    In PR a typical AAS or insugency map takes 2-3 hours to play through, so playing through more than the first 3 maps in the rotation is rare. We unfortunately cannot set the PR server to start with an insurgency or skirmish map, if we do those are the only maps that can be played until the server restarts limiting the first map in the rotation to AAS unless an admin switches it. Without frequent admin intervention the only maps people play on the PR serves are those they voted for or the first 3-4 maps in the rotation. Also do to the way map votes by starting at the beginning of the rotation and then selecting the first map of that name and us running a full selection of maps with skirmish and VW at the end a map vote will never be able to bring in a VW or Skirmish map.

    The only real improvement that can be made is rotating the first maps in the rotation more frequently, and since only certain maps prime consistently it would almost have to be left entirely admin discretion which maps got moved up.

    We'll be working on tweaking the map list. I will say this however. If y'all don't get on the server and prime, I can't really see any reason to change things what so ever, since I have nothing to draw data from.

    I dont mind the rotation for the most part, I just hate that Yamalia is near the top. Too massive to be near the top, imho.
