BF2142 1.51 OPEN Beta

For all of you Battlefield 2142 fans out there, we're announcing you that the Beta Patch v1.51 released back in December was to end in mid-January. We're pushing forward the date until end of January now, so if you don't have the patch, download it and get in on the action!

Patch notes:

- No DRM on the BF2142.exe file

- Northern Strike free for everyone

- Whole bunch of new maps including Strike at Karkand 2142 and Operation Blue Pearl.

- Account security updates

DICE needs people to test this. They need people to fill up the test servers to ensure the stability problems are 100% gone. So... if you're wanting 1.51 to be released (and fix the server crashing issues) you should give it a try. One word of warning though... you will want to make a backup copy of your 1.5 installation. (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142 on 32-bit C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142 on 64-bit) Otherwise, you'll have to uninstall and reinstall 2142 to install the final release of 1.51.

I plan on firing the beta up this weekend. The best part is you can play the new maps and Northern Strike!

Downloading from the link above. Is that the only place? It is limiting BW at 100 kps and will take all day at that rate.

In order to back up my 2142, can I copy and past the entire 2142 folder to the desktop and rename it 2142 Backup?

Yes. Just make a copy of the entire 2142 folder in program files somewhere... Once the final release comes out, you can just delete the copy with the beta installed and replace it with your backup copy.

Ok,shotgun has even more range now? That's crap because it was over powered as it is on the last patch. Hey AL,we now have to watch for shotgun snipers aswell as other snipers on the map. And I'm not down loading till they get it released. Right now my 2142 including Northern Strike works and don't want to screw that up. So y'all we see me when it is official.......
