Dont get me wrong.. I'm not bashing the server at all, Iam bashing the map rotation.. I would really like to see the server more populated. I find it pretty crazy that TPG is having a population problem when other servers arent. Personally I would love to see players from other servers coming over and playing on TPG. If a new player to TPG isnt very good at team playing it might be because they havent been around it very much.. Show the new guys the ropes, give em a bit of slack at first and they'll probably become much better team players and new regulars of TPG.
There is a problem, The server is only running full for a few hours every night, and some other servers are full or half full 24/7 still. I tend to play BF2 in the later hours of the evening and by midnight central time the server is usually dying at a rapid pace where as other servers are full.. Take a peak into those servers and you'll see a lot of familiar names, why is thisThe only thing that seriously stands out to me is map rotation. for some reason right around the time when you are switching player base from east coast to west coast players, we are playing the more unpopular maps not back to back but damn close together.
From my view the writing is on the wall, or the battle tracker graph.. The server is dead more than it is up and we are having a problem keeping it full during the prime evening playing hours.. I'm throwing my suggestion out there because I like playing on the TPG server and with most of the players that frequent the server.
Seems it would be pretty easy to take a vote of everyones favorite 5,7,10 maps or what ever and mix them into the rotation more than once so that peoples favorites are more common.. Make sure the rotation is set up so that during the prime evening playing hours we arent playing multiple unpopular maps close together... Lets get those players from the other servers and even though they may not be team players now, that doesnt mean we cant teach them.

Ok so we take a vote and find the those 7 maps that most people like. Now we throw it into the rotation twice. Now what about those that never get to play the maps they like because we have 7 additional maps added to the rotation? How is that fair? The server is set as full rotation which allows everyone to play the maps they like. The rotation changes every month i believe could be 2 weeks. Of which i do not know if that is a pain in the ass to do so i make the assumption that it is not the easiest thing to complete. Im all for opinions but adding maps multiple times to the rotation only screws those that dont like those maps or the ones that never get to play the ones they like. I have several maps i cant stand but i play them and i dont bitch about because i know there are those that like those maps. I will on occasion throw up a map vote to see about skipping one but that has only works 2 times in the 3 or 4 years i've been playing.

I would like to see the rotation get shuffled once every 2 weeks. that would help keep things fresh. I only get to play at the same time every couple nights, so I am always playing the same maps which is getting old.
It may be a pain to make this happen, but if it helps keep the server full it should be worth it.

And that is exactly what we are working on. The next rotation may or may not (it is still being discussed) reflect it, but we are working on a "modular" rotation design, where "blocks" of maps would easily be able to be moved and shuffled more frequently. Our goal is to keep the weeknight rotation (where we only get through about 1/2 the maps) as fresh and fun as possible, and still have some fun maps on the back-end to keep the weekend nights rockin'.
Either way....a new rotation is coming very....very soon.

This was the latest thread I could find about map rotations. I think the current rotation is close to hitting 2 months. I take it with Dictionary gone; this 2 week plan was never implemented. Or are we going to stick with the current rotation like the band on the Titanic?
I must say I do like it when some admin does deviate from the current rotation to some map later in the rotation. It is a nice change of pace. Kind of makes it feel like it’s on Random.
Is there any back forum discussions on what’s going to happen? Remember, it’s your world, I just play in it.

Yep, i'm beginning to feel like i'm playing the same maps because i come around 4-6 and drop around 9. Why ? Because the server primes around the same hours I start and last 2 hours maybe after I'm gone. So I don't see the last part of the rotation.
Really guys, face it. The server, as it is works around 6 hours a day during the week. It's ranking has been slipping since the stats are available for TPG. The writing is on the wall. Either something change or it will be dead before BF3 arrives.
Is the map rotation a factor. I confess my ignorance based on too short (1 year) experience. But please look around and check what works. Don't listen to those complaining about maps they love or hate. They should.... overcome their dislike and ADAPT........
