Hold Your Spawn
That is all.....On Conquest maps....Hold your fucking spawn.
You BF2 and 2142 guys know what I am talking about.......Holding your spawn at the beginning of a round instead of just jumping in, only to be left without a ride at the Uncap.
Seriously......The vehicles SHOULD NOT be wasting time sitting at the Uncap waiting for your dumb ass. In BF2, you are the idiots that get bombed on the carrier at Wake and Oman and wonder why. Just take a deep breath, and realize that the team can do without your awesomeness for another 20 seconds. What's best for the team is to take crucial flags....not sit at the Uncap and bitch because someone took off on the last ATV....they were doing it right....you were doing it wrong.
In most of these Conquest maps, there are only 3 flags. That makes the "B" flag crucial. With the way the BF games score, the team that holds two of the three flags has no ticket bleed, while the team that holds only one will be slowly dieing. The best strat from the git-go, is to get as many people as possible on "B".....and that means squad bombing (where ONLY 1 squad member spawns in, and gets to wherever as fast as he can...then the rest of his squad spawns on him), or waiting until a squadmate has a vehicle before spawning in. I don't care how incredible you think you are in a tank....if you don't have "B", you don't have squat.
And for those who do get the fast-movers.......FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE DON'T STOP AT THE FIRST FLAG......KEEP GOING TO "B". Let the slower vehicles (and assorted idiots on foot who still can't wrap their melons around the above paragraph) cap the flag closest to your teams Uncap. Go to "B". Go directly to "B". Do not pass GO, and do not collect $200. Your team needs "B" as fast as it can......and you are in the one vehicle that can get you and your squadmates there the quickest. Don't wait for them at the Uncap, and don't stop....just get your butt to "B".

Excellent points dex.
The 'B' flag on most conquest maps usually hold some tactical advantage that make it important to the success of your team. AA Guns, Armor, UAV, etc.
While we're on the subject of rants... holding 2 flags is crucial. Once you have 2, you don't need to press for the 3rd. Pressing too heavily towards the 3rd generally leaves at least one (sometimes 2) flags undefended. The enemy can slip by and back cap and then you're really fucked. You have 1 flag (if you're lucky) and are bleeding and then have to expend bodies to regain the balance. FOR FUCKS SAKE. Sit back and let the enemy come to you. They're bleeding. They HAVE to take a flag.

I always try and take B and the forward most flag from your uncap, the back flag can be pounded from the uncap. Unfortunately I can't stand HC so I have to play on some scrub server that doesn't promote squad and teamplay and it frustrates me to no end the amount of people that don't grasp the concept in Dex's post.

Re: Hold Your Spawn
You do realize that this forcibly splits your team in half, or even worse in thirds? One defending the forward most flag, one defending the center flag, and the third trying to cap the flag closest to your uncap. It disrupts communication, because now the little one story house by the tree is in three places.
Having control of the center flag and the one closest to your base is key. It allows everyone on the team to be at the same flag putting up the best defensive front available and allows the entire team to understand the inforamtion being communicated.
I often see many players with tunnel vision at the start of the game. They cap A, then B and proceed to cap C even though the B diamond is blinking.
