    Exclamation TS Etiquette

It's been brought to my attention that people are using the phrase "GOOK" in TeamSpeak. While it may have been appropriate 40 years ago in Vietnam, it is no longer acceptable.

    WARNING
We don't tolerate the N-word on our servers, and we won't tolerate any other racial slur. Anyone caught doing so will be banned from the TeamSpeak server and the BC2 server as well.

If you need to refer to a member of the Vietnamese team you can refer to them as VC or NVA or just plain old Charlie.

And please use push to talk.

We don't need to hear every word you utter. Or your dogs barking. Or a play-by-play narrative of your gaming adventure.

We had (at one time last night) 12 people on one side in TS. You would think we only had one or two, because no-one could get a word in edgewise because of one or two people CONSTANTLY yapping. Communication is great, but listening to bitching about every death does squat for the rest of the team. When one guy left (who obviously had his own "open-mic night" going on), there were still ten people on that side (in TS), and it was blissfull silence. The rest of the team just enjoyed the quiet break, but soon started to actually communicate important team intel....the contrast was startling.

So please....PLEASE...bind a PTT key. I love the bs'ing that goes on, but remember that there are usually a lot of people who are trying to work together and communicate, and no-one needs to hear how you were unfairly killed.....every single death. Write a letter to EA, don't clog up the comms in TS. I'm usually the one with my mouth moving, but last night my ears were exhausted.

Perhaps you should think about starting up a blog here at TPG Dex. Dex's rant of the day.

I can't believe people actually still use that term. It's incredibly offensive to those who are Vietnamese.

It wasn't Max....I won't name names, but it wasn't Max. LOL!

If it were Max, the word "minimap" would have been in every sentence.
