seems like they changed their mind after the alpha concerning the spawn system. Unfortunately (well, depending on your point of view), we'll be able to spawn on anyone, regardless if you are a squad leader or not...

BF2 shipped with 12 maps and DICE gave us 3 free maps (Wake, Jalalabad & Tampa). They aren't as charitable anymore (thanks to the acquisition by EA). You need to pay for new content. That likely means we won't host the paid content unless we have a large enough user base to warrant it.

At this point, I don't even care. It was either that or the spawn system we saw in the alpha, which ended up with the same problems (having to kill the entire squad to prevent them from spawning back).
I don't care if DICE wants to make the game easier for solo-players. I only care about how this community is going to play it.

They likely wont be mixed. You can't go from a 64 person conquest to a lower player count rush without dropping a good chunk of the server.
So we have to assume TPG will have a large enough community from the gates to warrant more than just a conquest server before you assume we have any more than 5 or so conquest maps to play. It could wind up being a pretty tiny rotation for a 64 man server.

Exactly. If rush won't support 64-player, you won't see us running mixed mode. If we have to run 2 ranked servers, that could get expensive fast, especially if ranked providers charge $2-3 per slot for ranked servers as they have a habit of for new games. 96 players (a 64-player conquest and 32-player rush) at $2 per slot is $192.00. That's a huge chunk of cash there.
