Re: BF3 Fact
After thinking about it, their Steam comment kinda pisses me off.
In reference to consumer prices, Steam's known for being one of the most fair distributors. Not sure what it charges devs/publishers, but it surely hasn't been a complaint from any of EA's other major developers. I rarely get any PC games that aren't on Steam anymore. Can't think of one in the last year, come to think of it.

Re: BF3 Fact
This is exactly why they haven't released it on steam yet - EA doesn't want to share profit, they want the revenue first, they'll probably release the steam version as usual a few days late. All profit margins, they don't give a crap about steam, they care about how much they are paying. My guess is selling the disks probably saves them even more too - steam manages the updates, awards and so forth so really they are doing much more than the likes of breast-buy and friends. I have to laugh because it just reiterates EAs money view - hell I watched a 10-15 min video on an EA guy talking about how advertising in video games is relatively untapped... Soon enough you'll have 2 versions of games a full price no ads game and a half price ad filled game you'll see....
