Why do they worry about expansion packs, when the game is still nearly a year away? They should just include them with the game.

It really shows their mindset. Games have now become just a platform to build future sales upon. Make a game with 20 maps, include half with the original release, and sell the other 10. Throw in some new guns/clothes/hats, and sell those too.

No, no, no no. This is why I hate X-box. You buy a system then buy a game then in order to play online you have to pay for there subscription. Fuck that. I really hope PC games do not go that route but keep it original; you buy the game then its free play online. EA don't fuck us twice....

The map thing is going to make it a pain in the ass from a server point of view. It'll be Northern Strike all over again.

The weapons I can see IFF they did it like where you can unlock all of the weapons through points like in BF2 or 2142 or you can buy the DLC and get them from the beginning.

This. I can guarantee you that TPG won't make any maps that require a purchase available on the servers, unless a separate server instance ONLY running those maps is stood up. It divides the server population too much. Play a 'stock' map and then switch to a DLC map and half (or more) of the server gets disconnected. Not gonna fly here.

More of the same from EA/DICE. They started it with the "Battle Packs" in BF2 and continued it with the Northern Strike pack in 2142. At least in BC2, they made Vietnam a standalone game. You can't mix stock BC2 with Vietnam. Unfortunately that ends up costing US more money because we need to host multiple server instances.
