Reloaded BF2, but can't connect?

I've had my computer wiped and reinstalled BF2 to play, but when I try to connect to Multiplayer mode, there are no servers in the list. I thought that, perhaps, I needed to patch, so I got the 1.5 patch and when it was done downloading and I tried to install it, it told me that I already have a new version. Yet, I still can't connect to any servers.....

What did I miss?

What version of the game do you have? CD or DVD?

If it's the CD version (3 disks):
Install game
1.41 Patch
1.5 Patch

For the DVD (1 disk)
Install game (and when it asks you if you want to restart, tell it No.....let it sit for a bit, and it should start installing the expansion packs, as well as the 1.41 patch)
Install 1.5 Patch

Ok, the latest problem I'm having now is getting kicked from a server for....

PunkBuster kicked player 'MaBell37' (for 0 minutes)...

Ok, next problem.... The game is showing my rank as Colonel, before connecting to a server, yet when I connect, I have no unlocks and, I'm getting promoted from Private....

Additionally, when I try to connect to the TTP/TPG server, it tells me that I have an older version than the server...

First problem resolved, turns out, the server I was connected to, didn't recognize the ranks, and didn't allow ANY unlocks. Second problem still stands.
