    Ping cap?

I dont necessarily want to say we should put in a ping limit cause that can be real annoying if you ping just for short periods of time then you kicked. It would be nice to have it were if someones been playing in for a while and there ping is in excess of 300+ the whole time to temporarily kick them. Its not horrible when theres only 1 person but when there are several on one team it gets very annoying fast. Bullets dont register correctly when shooting at them and theres seem fine. The only reason im bringing it us is cause there were 5 people on one side for a period of 4 hours or more who had 300+ ping. I inquired about it several times to see if an admin would do anything but it seemed all the admins were on there team and could careless if there ping was high cause they were raping us. Maybe if an admin would just pay attention and way for pings every once in a while, there doesnt need to be any sort of auto kick but some admin support would be appreciated.

I know that in other games we had set "high ping" limits....not sure what the ping limit is on our BC2 instances but I'll check

There should be a ping limit on the server.......but WileE or BunBun would be the ones to ask.

One thing I can tell you is that a 300 ping in BC2 really isn't too bad. In their infinite wisdom, and since they had everything else finished (lol), EA decided to reinvent the wheel in regards to ping reporting. Instead of going the route of every other game on the planet and reporting one leg as the ping number, EA decided to put the total time of the trip, and use that number instead. So, basically, a 300 ping in BC2 = 150 ping in every other game.

Speaking from the land of high pings...

This would end my BC2 gaming, as I average 220 - 600. All the time.

    Re: Ping cap?

Im not saying there should be a ping cap becuase i know from alot of experiance that some peoples internet jumps often or it may just be for a few minutes that its high due to others in there house doing something. What i was more looking for was admin to be consious of peoples pings and if theres someone who is 100-200+ higher then everyone then kick them. I myself have internet that can give me great troubles in this area but it makes gameplay worse for other if you have people who have high ping.

    Re: Ping cap?

I was just having this discussion with someone last night. How having a high ping seems to benefit the high pinger more than the rest. In games in the past it was usually high pingers who suffered the consequences. But in BC2 I find time and time again that I am losing gun fights to high pingers because my hits are not registering. Frustrating to say the least, especially when you have the drop on someone, they spin around and shoot you down.

It was me. Last night was one of the worst nights I have seen. I will make a video later tonight if it is the same. Hitting people 5+ times with the sniper rifle before it registered as a hit. Can't really play like that.

This is one of the main reason's I run semi's and autos only with recon. So I can fire multiple shots after lag armor screws my first shot!

    Re: Ping cap?

And I should ask......was this on the HC server?

If it was.....wait until Saturday evening, and compare. We got a heads-up from our host that they are doing some network upgrades on their end Saturday morning (we should only be down for a couple of hours). See if whatever they do helps.
