Is battlefield 2 worth installing?

It and BC2 might be helpful for you if you intend to buy BF3.

Veteran points, Gun Club points/rewards. We HOST BF2, And Still have reserve slots. You should also Add in your Game IDs to your profile. I know I've seen you in BC2..........eh?

Bf3 is around the corner and you can either play bfplayforfree or Bc2.

You are going to come into the BF2 forum and tell players it is not worth it to install BF2? Really? What is your purpose here? Going into a forum and telling players they shouldn't download a game that forum represents is unacceptable.

Mango - yes, it is worth to install it. There are still some great competitive games being played. Make sure you install the patches in order and if you run into any issues, check the sticky. We look forward to seeing you on the battlefield.

I don't. Read this on Ars the other day though:

... and so where I once put the probability of my playing BFP4F at 0%, I've now revised that to be lower.

Edit: oh yeah, as to the original question - yes, you should install it.

The scheduled release of BF3 is more than 6 months away (and who wants to take bets that the schedule doesn't slip?). That's not "just around the corner" to me. BFP4F is inferior in every way - especially considering that if you already have BF2 then it IS free.

If you were thinking that BF2 or something like it would be fun to play, then BF2 is what you want.
