We get complaints in the past when Karkand was in the #2 or #3 slot. The map can be painful when the server population is low. What typically happens is that one side will completely roll the other side causing players to leave. This is also one of those maps where the chinese or mec can get capped out.

As been stated earlier, we have tried Dalian, Daqing and of course Oman. These were not a one day trial either. There is nothing wrong with Dalian as a priming map. The problem seems these days is that no matter what map is first, the server is still in low population until you get about 2 1/2 to 3 maps deep. I feel the bigger question is, what map does everyone want second? Place another map with air vehicles and the team that dominated the first map, will continue to do so on the second. If place a nice city map like Karkand, Mashtuur or Jalalabad second, then the nice city map has been used up on a low population server.

08-16-11, 12:32 PM #50To me the best solution would be what someone said earlier and make say 3-4 rotations and swap them out every week or two. Then the primers don't get burned out on Oman, and those that play later still get to see good maps. When I get to the hotel tonight I will try to throw some together.
