BF2 installing problems with Windows 7

Since BF3 is coming out and it requires Vista or Windows 7 I decided to upgrade XP to Windows 7. Now I cant get BF2 to install in 7. It goes through the steps asking for the key and then the acceptance of the terms of use. When I click ok it starts to load the program. It does not go very far and gives me an error stating Battlefield did not install correctly try again. Can anyone help me with this. Tried to do it as Admin and also compatability but cannot get it to install.

Mojo, are you using an installer file or from disk.

If it's a downloaded file from EA then it's more than likely corrupt and you need another copy of it. I believe either Safari or Warlady has experienced this issu before.

I take it you did a format and clean install of Win7?

yes from disk and i did a clean install. Actually I got it to load finally. I was using my dvd to install and thought I would try my cd. Now I am getting the install. On disk 2 now. Hope this works. Let you know soon. Thanks.

If you have issues like I did after installing the 1.5 patch, having BF2 crash to the desktop after playing for like 5 minutes, then let me know and I will show you the fix.

Ok thanks. I cant remember though do I install 1.4 or 1.41 before I install 1.5 patch.

Install 1.41 first then 1.5

If your mic is not working and in game audio your mic boost is greyed out...click start/documents/bf2/profiles/0001 or 0002 /AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled 1

that worked for my mic problem
