Thread: Shafted! No Voip.

GameSpy: The beta didn't support in-game VOIP; players had to form a party through battlelog to be able to chat just to their party. Will Battlefield 3 include in-game VOIP – be it squad or team based – at launch?

Lars: No, on PC this (battlelog) is what we're going to ship with. Then we're going to evaluate how we move forward with this. It's something we've heard from the community, it's something we understand. At the same time, building a game of this size, you can't win all of the battles. The convenience of going in with friends with your party VOIP channel and keep it even after the game, is definitely a strength. That's just the start – we can definitely evolve from there down the road.

"You can't win all of the battles." Really? Why can't you have working in game VoIP? Because you choose not to, that is why.

If they have a good API that allows integration with TS, Mumble, etc... it's workable.

For those that actually used the "party" system how does it work? Is it like TS where I can hear whomever is in the channel with me regardless of whether we are in the same squad, on the same team, or even in the same server?

Still I liked the game....so still going with it....not the best situation. BC2, of course had the same issue, TS is a pain but it still works if people use it. I just want to make sure we can pick our own squads.

Voip is in battlelog, what we wanted. I guess I spent 380$ to play L4D2 and CSS better.

tpg will still host a server im sure, and ts3 is not that bad.
