BF3 thoughts

Well, I played for a few rounds last night and this morning. So far, I like the maps and the layouts. Pretty much everything looks good and runs smooth after I tweaked a few drivers. The only thing I would comment negatively about would be the hit detection. I am not sure it is even that. I get the hit indicators but no kill. I unloaded a full mag into someones back from about 5 feet, for them to turn around and shoot me once as I was reloading. This morning was worse. Full to half a mag to kill someone and I am killed in 2-3 bullets from them. I really hope this is just temporary and fixable. After all, this is DICE's netcode.

What are your thought and impressions so far?

What didn't you like about BC2? I enjoyed it for what it was. I also enjoy BF3. I would enjoy it more If I could kill something.

Well my girlfriend went and pre-ordered BF3 for me without me knowing until yesterday at gamestop as an early birthday present. So as free game I don't mind it at all, and find it easier to like this game lol. A lot of the weird glitches are gone for me at least like the screen flickering, and odd animations. I only played like 5 minutes of multi-player, and spent great deal my time on single player.

So far single player is a ton fun, and have to agree that it's cliche ridden, but satisfying as all hell. The opening of the game drops you right into the action which was cool. The difficulty is right on spot I feel, if you run around and don't take cover your going get killed. I like how you interact with things on the maps as well creates a really immersive game experience. I'm really looking forward to playing some co-op though.

A BF3 mod in the battlelog forums posted this which sounds some what promising.

I haven't played the game that much because of VGA issues but well I was reading through the collectors edition strategy guide for bf3 and Yes You can attack uncap on Certain maps.. Then theres one problem I've seen.. Another blue harbor map @_@... the map is called noshahr canals...US again starts from a harbor and have to drive a boat or apc over to the flags and cap before the RUS does.. I'm going to say this....

NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN @_@...without a strategic leader aka commander its going to be a horrible map with out good organization teamwork..

The single player is awesome, but for some darn reason the streets of Iraq at the beginning of the game are all white. I have the latest FX drivers and have no clue whats going on, but its really annoying.

I played for about an hour last night -- I thought it was pretty decent. The commo rose is terrible -- it just had a bad feel to it. It was also useless.

So far I'm enjoying the game. Although I'm a big fan of rush mode in bc2, I've played nothing but conquest in bf3. For some reason conquest maps bring out more excitement than rush maps (may change as I play more). As for the frags, I usually do get the first shot off but still end up dying. I'm assuming it's because I can't aim with iron sights. Hopefully things will be different once I get a laser scope (the non zoom ones).
