There are enough regulars that play TPG that you can find a competent SL that is using TS. The only thing that would make the current system better is if squadleaders had a separate comm where they could communicate with each other.

I've played BC2 quite a bit and every time I join TS I need to leave after ten minutes because it's just too confusing trying to distinguish people's voices, vague multiple orders, and general chatter. I have a much easier time with distinguishing three voices from each other.
first alt tabbing is as easy as eating cake in BF3. second the ts squad voip maybe working well for you and your squad but does it benefit the rest of the team? from experience that would have to be mostly no. also i find myself in squads where its been near silent with no leadership or orders what so ever and where i was the only one talking. there is also the chance that the game itself has goofed and not assigned a squad leader which happens every time i play. there is also the possibility that you may be stuck outside a squad as was the case for me last night on one occasion or the possibility that you are alone in a squad and unable to change to other squads because they are full. i could go on but i think you get the point.

what i am trying to say is that there are just to many factors here for the current system to actually work for the rest of the team and until they are addressed or otherwise fixed i cant agree with how TS is currently laid out.

No different than if you are in a squad alone, or the only one using your mic in BF2.

    I'm guessing you don't play BF2 regularly.

Alt tabbing is FAR from "eating cake" when I try to get into TS. I have to Alt tab alike 4 or 5 times becaue it tabs me out but as soon as I click anything it puts me right back in the game.

    Very frustrating

have you tried Alt+Enter? That works pretty well with BC2 when I need to get to TS or other apps.

Don't think so, will give it a shot.

I have issues with my headset. A program has to be launched before I plug them in somethings. That means I have to launch BF3 so it works (and not just battle log either) THEN plug in my USB headset THEN launch TS or I have no mike in TS.

it is a pain in the ass

@Phoenix1989 If you don't like the current system when you log into TS & Bf3 TPG simply go un-squad. by default all players in-game not in squad go into the team 1/2 channel which now means you can talk to more than 4 people. It's also a way to actually use the in-game BF interface for planing rather than using alt-enter to switch channels. So essentially you could hit ESC switch un-squad talk to someone in another squad if they do same, and then go back and relay plan to your squad mates. It isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than any plans I've heard here.

I think the ideal situation would be for play callers from there respective squads went un-squad for a moment before round starts hash a quick repeatable plan, and then go back, and execute. Examples would be hey if we get back capped/ our closest flags get taken my squad will break off and take care of that, rest you guys work on getting pressure, and our ticket bleed flags. Things like that can be done well before 30+ seconds expire, and now you've got a plan. We just need make this a habit of doing this as squad leaders, and we could have something really good.

I would not recommend going unsquaded. Just like in the other BF games, unsquaded players will be kicked. Squad up and support your team.
