I want to rant about...
I have noticed a few things that drive me crazy. I figured this would be a great place for all of us to vent our frustrations. Here are mine:
1) If you are support and your squad pauses for more than 2 seconds... DROP AMMO. It kills me that the Javelin is useless because I use my two shots, can't find ammo and the armor drives on continuing to kill our teammates. I am stuck with the RPG as my go to weapon because I can't resupply the Javelin.
2) If you are assault/medic. See above.
3) At the beginning of the round, if you hop into a vehicle and you have teammates around take a deep breath, look around and see if you have people running towards you so they can get in too. Taking a fast mover and not ensuring you filled it to the best of your ability hurts the team.
4) When in doubt play engineer with an RPG. Avoid recon unless you are certain it is needed. I know sniping is sexy to most, but half a team of snipers can't take out that LAV or tank.
5) I am not certain if it is possible to kill teammates by running them over with a vehicle on our server because I am extra cautious to not run them over when driving. But, if you want to be on foot at the beginning of the round, how about not running right down the middle of the road where the fast movers are trying to quickly get to a flag.
6) If we are getting our ass kicked by air use the damn anti-air thing in our base. If you are a squad leader break one guy off with a redundant kit and have them spend a few minutes helping clear the air.
7) If you are a squad leader and you notice you have an unbalanced group don't be afraid to ask people to change roles. If there are 3 guys recon and 2 engineers ask two of the recon guys to switch to assault and support. Also, don't be afraid to adapt. If you are getting destroyed by choppers and jets get as many of the squad to switch to Engineer/Stinger and spend 5 minutes taking out the air assets.
8 ) If you are finding that you are waiting long periods of time to get an air asset give it up. You are taking up team space doing NOTHING. They implemented the feature where you can spawn into the air asset from the deploy screen. If you see there are no assets don't fucking sit around for more than a min waiting for it to spawn. Get over it and get to joining the fight on the ground and capping flags.
Well that is the end of my rants. Feel free to criticize, I am not the most knowledgeable person at the game so I am sure someone is going to inform me of something that will make me a bonehead.

Re: I want to rant about...
I think the more accurate rant should be "look at the classes your squad is playing". When I see 3 people recon in a squad it drives me insane. That is generally not going to be an effective squad. I just think if someone is not going to take the time or does not think they are sure what class they should playing... engineer is going to be at least an acceptable choice a lot of the time.
Edit:
This is where I am ignorant to what all the classes can do... what is a TUG? Is that the laser designation?

Re: I want to rant about...
Your missing his point, 3 snipers in squad isn't helping a whole lot. One recon in squad is plenty to do that job, especially when a squad consists of 4 members. I'm always asking people to switch up kits because of to many snipers or engineers. A squad needs a medics, and support every time, and the last two spots can either be engineer or recon depending on situation.
A few of my rants are stop fucking blocking door jams. When you block a door jam people can't get away when they need to. Simply stay to right or left it's that damn simple. If your the only assault in your squad please stay back and let your squad take point. I know name is deceiving, but you should probably be last man in so you can actually bring your dead squad mates up so you don't have wait for respawns, and of course losing tickets. Squad mates please try to stay within 20 meters of each other unless your recon. That's far enough not worry about squad wipes from RPG/grenades, but also close enough so you can actually support one another.

Re: I want to rant about...
I see that nothing has changed about BF games and recon "Hate". Been the same since BF2/2142/BC2 Sigh
Hate the players who can't play the kit properly. Not the kit itself. I'm not going to make a large post about this as I've made several over the years in a few different places. Even had an article on it from 2142 (Editors.......where is my article by the way damn it)
At any rate, there are several (more than a handful) of players that can play recon "properly" and support the team and take/defend flags. Leave them alone. Call out the others who can't seem to perform a useful function.

Re: I want to rant about...
Correct me if im wrong here... but It makes more sense to patrol around with the RPG instead of the Javelin for those reasons brock mentioned along with the ones below..
My complaint with the javelin is this. I want to be able to spawn in and launch a rocket at the armor immediately, not have to wait until lock on. I think they should keep the lock system with the jav but still make it fire at will.
Do engies get the AT4 launcher? Does the laser system of the recon assist with the Javelin?

Re: I want to rant about...
Is the sensor ball that flying thing that spots for you? I didn't play BC2 multiplayer.
I am not hating the Recon kit. I am not saying there shouldn't ever be a recon in a standard squad...I am saying that there probably shouldn't be more than one.
If I had a choice... I would want a squad with two anti-armor, medic and support. At the very least you HAVE to have one anti-armor... but I find it much easier to go from flag to flag with two. It is hard enough to take out a tank solo, and you can't depend on there being another squad around to support you because there is not a commander guiding the SLs.
By the way, what are the weakest parts of a tank and LAV? I have always assumed the top and back of the tank... and probably the same for the LAV. I always try to avoid attacking the front of a tank. Would that be correct?
